MMA Madness - MMA Media™ - One-on-one with Pat Miletich
If you can't download the mp3 or don't want to, here are the highlights...
On his guys who lost in the IFL Grand Prix....L.C. Davis (lost to Fabiano). Great athlete, will bounce back, learned some things from the loss. Rory Markham (lost to Cooper). Wore his legs out trying for subs.
Hughes. He still communicates with Hughes and realizes he's out doing his own thing - getting his own team going. Looks forward to having his guys fight Hughes' guys in the future. Thinks Hughes is probably on the farm relaxing and hiding out not wanting to talk. He didn't see his fight w/GSP but several people have told him GSP definitely looked incredible.
MFS. Nothing new...says MFS focuses on being well rounded and getting the fighters in great shape so as not to wear down in a fight, endurance is very important.
MMA is obviously exploding (not just the UFC as some others claim

)...still a couple of years (maybe even four or five) at least before reaching its pinnacle.
Organizations. There's gotta be a unified belt at some point. M-1, IFL, HDNet...will offer big paychecks and thinks the UFC will ultimately have to entertain the idea of cross promotions and not lock the fighters down. The better athletes will start signing with the orgs willing to work with each other to make those matches happen.
Ben Rothwell. Super nice guy, fun to be around, big heart, will do what's best for himself moneywise whether it's the IFL or somewhere else.
