Oh come on. I wasn't trying to provoke you. You just didn't come off too friendly in your first post. I apologize if I offended. I don't want to start an argument. So I retract my statement and apologize.

I reinstate Jonny's previous statement. FranklinIsOverrated might not last a week.
For the following reasons:
"I predict I have more MMA knowledge than you will ever have."
"Are you even in your 20's?"
Those are two signs of keyboard warriors. Especially the first one. You have no Idea how much either Jonny or myself knows about MMA. And there are keyboard warriors of all ages. Here we have a different standard. I personally would rather you stay and just don't say comments like the ones I have pointed out. But if you keep on like that you will get the ban real quick.
This isn't trying to cause problems or get you angry it is just me telling you how things are done at Fight forum. If you don't like that there is always sherdog.

andy barone is an ameteur fighter i saw him fight over in nyc and he is really good!
i dont see why everyone is ganging up on this franklin is overrated sure his name isnt to smart but he does have some points in what he says
Tho i do want griffin to win, Tito Ortiz does have a good chance from what he says about his training to get back to the top of the light heavyweight division, and he should be a candidate for best ever cuz he was the poster boy of the ufc for a while he was on top.
i think everyone will see a resurrection of tito fans as soon as the new ultimate fighter comes out because there were so many not to long ago and now that hes back they will come out again maybe even one of you guys!

I might be going to see Tito and Forrest fight. I hope we can get tickets and schedual our trip well.
I'll cheer for Forrest.
Oh, on the comment of Arlovski being a champion of a mound of crap. I think that Arlovski, Mir, and Buentello are good heavyweights. All the guys could hang in Pride.

Hope you get to go. That would be pretty sweet. I wish I could afford to do that sometime.
Well that is true. But I wasn't saying that Arlovski is bad. He is excellent and could hang in Pride for sure. You can't really say that about Mir yet though. No one knows how he will do. We'll find out tomorrow. I hope he makes a good return to help out the division. Buentello is also a good HW, I'm not denying that. But other than that they are all pretty sad so yes he is the king of a compost heap. It's not his fault that's just the way it is.

I will go back on the topic of the thread and say that the best fighter ever by me is Rickson Gracie. His stand up and GnP are not the best, but the guy is a BJJ God.

Ahh the Rickson Gracie myth. Sakuraba would own him the way he did with the rest of the Gracie bunch.

Bah, Rickson. Ya know he lost a sambo match and refused to admit it was a loss.

The only part of Rickson which is a Myth, is his record. It canīt be proven that he really fought all those fights, which doesnīt mean that it is a myth, it just hard to believe that he is 400-0. Losing a Sambo fight doesnīt make you a bad fighter all of the sudden.

I know what you are saying. And don't get me wrong. I'm not saying he is a bad fighter but he is made out to be this fighting god that he isn't or that he can't prove. Maybe he did fight all those fights but I don't believe it. And I don't believe for a second that he is 400-0. That's as believable as Pat Smith's "record" I think he gave something like a 250-0 record or something like that.

As Bas Rutten said.. " a big nice round number".. Record or not, watching Rickson was watching BJJ in perfection, and yes I would love to have seen him against Sakuraba, infact I thought it would happen after that controversial win of Sak over Royler, the fight is suspect, you gotta admit. Rickson was steaming mad.

It's not that he lost the fight. Everybody loses sometimes. It's that he refused to admit it as a loss.

I don't care about any record. My opinion is based on the matches I watched. I am a great fan of BJJ and an amateur practitioner of this martial art, and I have never even seen the things Rickson did.
So when it comes to grappling Rickson Gracie can only be compared to Gokor Chivichyan.

Rickson is an amazing grappler. He is a legend in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and I guess MMA. I just think his record of "400-0" is a little sketchy. I mean, he had a falling out with Royce and Royler. That kind of signals to me that he might have some issues. I'm not taking anything away from him though. But he's only 10-0 in MMA in my opinion. All of his other wins are from either street fights or BJJ.
Rickson is a legend but by no means the best. I think that even in his prime, he couldn't beat Fedor, Bas, or Sakuraba back in 2000.

Hey we can at least say he is 11-0 since his fight with Hugo Duarte, although very messy and chopped up to hell makes us believe that he put the beatdown on him.

I donīt think he could beat Fedor either in his Prime, but Sakuraba and Bas he could have handled, not saying he would have won for sure, but he could have handled them. Specially since Bas has losses to Funaki and the Shamrocks.. Sakuraba has also lost his share of fights to much less skilled fighters than Rickson.

He said in Bas's prime, Bas's prime is like... his last 10 fights when he actually had ground skills.

He said in Ricksonīs prime, not Basīs. Bas was not even fighting anymore in 2000. By the way, Bas has always had ground skills.
