However he is a terrible actor and needs to cool it, trying to play the master of masters in his movies.. the last one called "Today you Die" was pathetic.. Segal tried to play like he is from the hood, talking like a gangsta from the hood and acting like a rapper.. it was hilarious.
Van Damme on the other side has made some classics like Bloodsport.. high on his cocaine addiction he made "Knock off" which was actually one of his better movies.. but has never really shown any screen talent himself either. Bloodsport remains a classic though and "The Quest" was also not bad.

Bloodsport is a classic. I also liked his LionHeart movie a lot too.

Secondly, Zito did not KO Van Damme, he floored him, big difference - and he suckerpunched a drunk Van Damme while the guy was taking off his glasses. Then you include the size difference, the fact Zito was an amatuer boxer, and a blackbelt in karate and you understand why it's not really proof for anything. Getting suckerpunched while drunk by someone who can throw... and you're going to get knocked down or out.
|
A drunk Van Damme? So you've been reading his press releases on the situation, have you? From people inside Scores, Van Damme is the one who challenged Zito inside the club. When Zito said we'd better take it outside since he's a regular there, Van Damme accepted. And there was nothing sucker about the punch. I've heard that straight from bouncers who were there that night, I was a regular there for a while as well. So the amateur boxer/karate blackbelt/bodyguard/actor kicked the crap out of Van Damme plain and simple. Van Damme is an actor first foremost and not that great of a fighter. What's his excuse for ducking Don Wilson's $100,000 challenge?

There is 3 sides to every story and unless you were actually there and witnessed it you aren't going to get the complete truth from Zito or Van Damme. It's hard to go off of he said/he said scenarios and believe any of it.

If we're going off Hollywood martial artists it would have to be the late great Bruce Lee.
(Come on, you knew someone was gonna say it )

FEDOR is the BEST EVER ofcourse! He has strikes, ground, power and endurance. Not to mention heart. He's a true champion that let's his fist do the talking. He's fought the toughest apponents on this earth. That's why he's champion. Tyson only dominated in BOXING. You DON'T need a rival to be "greatness." There are no rivals for FEDOR because he dominates ALL. Next to Fedor, it would be Mirko and Big Nog.

and as for w/e said rich franklin deserves to be mentioned you are correct! Sure im partial because he is my favorite fightebut i dont see anyone beating him in the middleweight class, the crow and leben are probably the top two contenders and neither is well rounded enough to beat him, eventually i would like to see him go back up to light heavyweight to see what he can do!

Arloski has never beaten or fought a top heavyweight. Like I said before, UFC heavyweights are NOT ready for PRIDE heavyweights. If he ever comes to PRIDE, he should fight FUJITA first. Then work his way up. He will tap out against Yoshida tough.

the best fighter EVER in my opinion is probably Mahabid Ali, Royce Gracie or Bruce Lee. Many have stated that Bruce Lee is the fathur of mixed martail arts,
bruce lee accomplished MUCH more then any of the gracies in MMA, he practicly designed MMA b4 anyone even thought of it. if you read about bruce's JKD philosophy it has SOOO much incommon with MMA you would think he copied off it.
And whoever said segal is fat you got another thing comin. A true aikido master like steven segeal can shutdown a striker(not all some are to fast to stop). In aikido its really your oponents striking speed against the aikidokai's reflexes. If an Aikidokai is able to manage to trap/catch ur strike then your toast(trust me ive been there). So in a fight between segal and vandamme segal would for sure waiste his ass.
Though MANY aikido gyms in the states are fake!!:sport-smi

I might go along with Bruce. Personally, I think it's Fedor. Ali was probably the best boxer ever, and Royce one of the best BJJ guys, but as far as a well rounded fighter goes they are too skilled in one area and not enough in the other areas. Any well rounded MMA fighter could beat any boxer (strictly boxing...no other training and comparitive in body weights).

I was heavy into UFC when it it first started, then due to their legal problems I lost track when they left the states, and am now just getting back into it...So my picks are kind of old school...My favorite UFC fighters...
Kimo (he faded but I thought he was closest ever to beating Gracie, with the new rules the hair pulling would not have been a factor)
Royce Gracie (legend of course)
Don Frye (old school)
Oleg Taktarov (lost to Big Daddy inexplicably)
Vitor Belfort (first UFC guy with sick handspeed)
Randy Cotoure
Best fight: Taktarov/Abbot
Frye/Abbot
Told ya I was goin old school

Listen, let me educate you for a second.
Muhammad means "the praised one".. and is written the way it sounds. MU-HA-MAD. There is not much you can do wrong there. I donīt see where you get muhubid, mahabid or muhhuma from. Your adding Bīs and dropping Dīs and Mīs.
Iīm just telling you how it is spelled.. you can "lol" your way out of it, but your still wrong..itīs written the way it sounds.
Iīm preety sure if somebodyīs name was Diamond, he wouldnīt like it when you spell it Dyemon either right?

time will tell, in regards to being the "best" but the most **skilled** fighter at the moment is g st. pierre.
he has a higher level of skill in more disciplines then any fighter alive...
does that make him the "best"?...dont know...but skill wise, he truly is second to none.

only in theory...and heres why.. a master striker will beat an average defender any day of the week... you're also assuming that vandamme has no D..
props to segal and his aikido but he would be worn down by claudes tai kicks to his back upper leg, his knees when they're up tight, his elbows and the occational kick to the head...not to mention that he will in all liklihood be in better physical condition with infinately more stamina..
but lets give credit where credit is due...IF claude ran at segal like a drunken line-backer yelling like a middle aged japanese women on meth not wanting to BE ELIMINATED..im sure segal could side step and slap him on the back of the head for being so knappy..

Well constructed argument SmashingMachine. I like the part where you made a statement but backed it up with nothing. Guess that speaks to the validity of your, ahem, claim.
