Belfort to make his Boxing debut

Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort (13-6-0) will make his professional boxing debut on March 31st in Salvador, Bahia at ‘Minotauro Fight 3’ promoted by the Nogueira brothers.

The Rio De Janeiro native returns to his homeland to compete under the watchful eye of Brazilian Top Team’s Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira (26-3-1) , who returns as promoter for his third instalment of ‘Mintotauro Fight’.

The card will feature 11 MMA fights and two professional boxing bouts.

i cant believe belfort is going is going into boxing!!!1 hope he doesnt rule out mma matches in the future but he is one powerfull piece of machinery with his stand up game so i hope his head stays focused on what he his doing

Vitor has been into boxing for a long time, i believe that was his sport of choice before fighting in MMA. he had hopes of fighting for Brasil in the Olympic games. his stand-up is something he has really trained hard in so its not surprising at all that he has taken up a pro-boxing match. it'd be interesting to see if he could makes waves in the heavyweight division of proboxing.

with the speed that he has ( only rivaled by phil baroni ) he will do quite well but i think that he needs to be seriously focus on boxing for some time to get all his punching power to where it can be... there are some seriously hard punchers in boxing and i personally don't think that vitor has the chin for it, i know that brazillian fighters are among the toughest in the world but i think that he would have difficulty fully crossing over. why do you thin that mike tyson never fought mma? i mean we all heard about it for months but then there were " contract " difficulties, and some crap after that and then we never heard of it again.

Vitor has never been KO'd. He has the most underated chin. He took a HUGE bomb by Chuck square on the chin and just fell on his ass. Vitor has an awesome chin.
