We all would love to see more MMA coverage on TV, on ESPN ideally. They pay close attention to their forums and the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Please take time to register, and add on to the already sizeable UFC thread. Sherdog is already well represented there, so lets show them how FF rolls!

The K-1 events you guys show are at least 4 years old.

Now thats out of the way, I would LOVE to see UFC coverage. The sport is growing very highly in a demographic that ESPN does well with, the 20-30 something male. Even just a mention of the UFC on SportsCenter would be great, but with the IFL and PRIDE FC leaning towards Fox Sports, it would be a good financial move as well. More households get ESPN than Spike TV I would assume, and ESPN could give the sport a more professional edge, which would help show people that it is indeed a sport and not whatever negative misconceptions they think it is.

If you don't beleive it is a big sport, check out some of the major MMA sites such as Fightforum.com, Sherdog.com, and MMAWeekly.com

If ESPN thinks competitive timber sawing is a sport, the least you can do is give UFC a shot

Im registered now, yes that would be great to see UFC on ESPN but you know, I highly doubt it ever will be =(. They mostly talk about stick and ball sports. well once I think about it maybe it could happen, but Im not getting my hopes up

Yeah, I doubt it will as well. However, it def wont if nobody speaks up. So, we all put our $.02 in and see what happens. Like Aika posted, most of us are in their target demographic, so that has to carry some weight.

I joined. However, I was a little surprised by those racial questions on the registration. Why should they care about the race of the people on their forums? I suppose it is statistical, but it seemed over the top to me. Anyways, now we can all try to help get ESPN to put more MMA into their programming.

We have our foot in the door! Mixed Martial Arts now has its own catagory on the board, no longer forced to be with off topic crap under General Chat. The people have spoken, and the Worldwide Leader is listening. Its all coming together now, friends!

I see this thread has existed long before I joined FightForum; but I'm there now and waiting for email confirmation. Better late than never.
Speaking of more TV coverage; it was announced last night about the Ortiz/Shamrock rematch free on Spike TV on Oct. 10. I'm certainly looking forward to that bout.

That was announced 10 days ago at UFN 6. And why are you looking forward to it? Do you think Shamrock has a chance?

I always look forward to free fights on TV. I'm just glad I am able to watch what little I can after 60 hour work weeks; that's why I joined this website, to catch up; but to answer your question about Shamrock's chance.....NO! But it would be a better show if it involved a KO or submission; it's more conclusive that way. Although my wife thinks Tito is going to play around a bit before ending the fight.....I see it as a possibility. Tito likes to give a show for the fans.

I kind of agree. I think Tito is concerned about people complaining about a quick stoppage, and he's probably so confident about this win that he'll stand and trade with Shamrock for a while and take him down every time he needs to regain control. He's probably picking what round he'll end the fight in.

I'm looking forward to this fight for one reason...easy points! I think I might be going all in on Tito and with the odds i'm getting, I might be abler to make 100 points on the bet! LOL

All in on Tito, only for Tito to mess around and Ken pull off a leg lock. If Tito takes this fight seriously, (which I hope he will since he should be fighting for the title next) Tito will dispatch of Ken efficiently. Odds prob be like 0.15.

anyone get the fight network ? they show some not so stellar stuff like Mecca fighting organization , but im just watching the latest rumble on the rock and its pretty damn good . where did this channel come from ? and is it always gonna be free ?
