MMA and BJJ
alot of people automatically conclude that you need to be a high level in BJJ to compete in MMA at the level of the UFC or Pride. if thats true than why do the majority of title holders in the UFC and Pride claim other arts as thier base? in the UFC you have Tim Sylvia, Chuck Liddell, Rich Franklin and Matt Hughes, none of them claim to be BJJ fighters yet are champions. i bring this up because more more often than not its recommended that people interested in MMA take BJJ classes to get started. i really want someone to give me hard evidence as to why people still view the myth of BJJ as being the path to MMA?
