I also like MMA and i like NHB fighting. I like the idea of stand up and ground fighting. It makes you think harder and more technique is used.

Well I am not a fan of styles of anything. Music, movies, fighting, etc. I think what makes it good is the individual/s involved. I look at boxing today and it's not very entertaining, but I love watching Ali reruns. The first few minutes of Tyson/Holyfield was unbelieveable. I love watching Mir, Liddel, Tanner etc. I think the fact that they are MMA doesn't matter. I think if they were boxers they would still be great to watch because of what they bring to the sport not the other way around.
My 2 cents.

i am a big fan of MMA. i like the unpredictablity it brings. its not just two guys throwing punches anymore. they have to think about take-downs and submissions. in boxing you throw a lame punch and you might get knocked silly. in MMA you throw a lame punch and you might find yourself on the receiving end of a takedown, or worse and slam. MMA brings all the tools out of the shed.

I don't think that the UFC will be selling out the Oakland Coliseum anytime soon.

i may be mistaken but one reason Pride is so huge in Japan is that its widely accepted by both the public and the media. the UFC was growing at an alarming rate in the mid-nineties at one point it was being watched by more people than boxing or wrestling. In steps all the do gooders who think that the fighters are in danger and being exploited and the government steps in and next thing you know the UFC is banned from PPV. the UFC loses its main source of revenue and all the good fighters go to Pride where they can fight without all the BS, and still get the big paycheck. the UFC has to blame itself for some of this negative reaction, after all, they did advertise it as the world's most dangerous sport. No Holds Barred, anything goes, come see blood etc.. anyone remember the Ken Shamrock/ Senator John McCain debate on Larry King live? that was a site to see. a politician telling Ken Shamrock that NHB should be banned because people are getting hurt or killed. yet at the same time saying that boxing is a safe sport.

I love MMA. I also enjoy point sparring and other types of Eastern MA competitions like forms and breaking. I love watching Muy Tai as well.
I hope that with media coverage its been getting and some fighters that realy show true sportsmanship will bring the sport to where it should be. (a la Rich Franklin( www.richfranklin.com) who compliments Tanner and Shamrock and is a very respectgul, stand up guy)

I think OLD STYLE PIT FIGHTING is my favorite stly of fighting. Most affective style would be ju-jitsu.

I like all sorts of MMA and NHB events although I must admit that UFC holds the #1 spot for me.
Boxing and kickboxing can put me to sleep.
And as much as I'll probably get ragged for this, I also like pro wrestling. Especially ECW and XPW. And before any of you wise asses says anything, yes, I know it's fake.

I am a pretty big fan of boxing but recently I have liked the UFC because it takes more effort out of a person than boxing does.So I would say I like UFC.Another reason I like the UFC is because it takes more than one style of fighting to win.So instead of just training in one style like a boxer does UFC fighters train in many styles.
