As far as boxers, I would say Muhammed Ali perhaps.
As far as wrestlers, Hulk Hogan has always been a fan of mine :P.

Im starting to Doubt Ali was the greatest. As far as people's champ and favorite then yea. But, lately ive been watching alot of Aaron Pryor, Sugar Ray Robinson, and its pretty hard to compete with those Hard card fighters.

Ali was a great fighter for sure although it is tough to compare new with the old. Not like you can throw these guys into a ring to find out! Even Tyson in his prime was one of the most feared fighters ever - I sure as hell wouldn't want to step into the ring with him.
When we get a little more activity here, we will start some old vs. new polls such as Ali vs Lewis. It'll be interesting to see everyone's opinions.

Yea, thats true, its very hard to compare Older fighters to later fighters. I think it would be fun to do one of those 'Fantasy Fight Story' type things. Where you take an older fighter and put them up against a fighter who came later when the earlier fighter fell out of their prime.

When Royce was winning everything in the early days of UFC, almost everyone around was an MMA newbie. The sport hadn't erupted like it has now.

Yeah, I love how Rutten stops mid-iron palm when he sticks his tongue out at him.
Oh, anyone know what league/org that is? I noticed no mouth gaurds and no gloves (which would explain using the iron palm technique, wont break ur fist that way) and they only had shin/instep gaurds.

Sugar Ray Robinson is without a doubt one of the best fighters in history. Know if were talking boxing or MMA. MMA it would be very difficult to say. Maybe we will all be able to give a real honest answer to that question 10 years from now. When the sport is a little older.

How can you say Manfredo Jr. is the best fighter ever? No offence, but how does he compare to Ali, Tyson, Leonard and Lewis?
Oh, and if he was so good, he would have won The Contender.
