Default Tko / Ko ?

Hi, could someone just explain to me the difference between TKO and KO.

I know that TKO stands for technical knock out, but thats about it..

KO is when you actually knock someone out. TKO stands for technical knock out, which is when the fight is stopped by an outside party.

Right. TKO is the ref determining that you've lost because you're unable to defend yourself. KO is when you're looking up at the lights wondering what all these guys are doing in your bedroom (I know, I kinda stole that line from TUF3).

I like to think of it more literally. Your would have "technically" been "knocked out" if the ref didn't step in.

In Boxing, a TKO is being KOed 3 times in the same round also.

KDed, Aika, not KOed three times.

EDIT: not always, depends on the rules of the sanctioning body in effect.
