It's not that simple really.
For example Shogun could very well be better than Wandy (and Henderson). He just never fought for the belt, cause his team-mate had it.
Shogun has beaten Arona and Lil Nog (among others), both of whom beat Henderson.
The champion isn't always the best.
Sorry I had to break that down for you.

"To be the man, you have to beat the man." However in this sport beating any one man doesn't count for everything. It's about your continual performance. Standing up to bad style matchups and emerging victorious. Winning against many of the top fighters in your weightclass. Winning against one person in MMA will never make you the best. And i'll say that even when someone legitimately beats Fedor.

i'd love to see it but there are some issues that would have to be iron'd out. like first off the UFC would want a 170 division in this thing because of there talent in it. and then you'd have to agree on who fought who at each division. like everyone keeps saying Fedor vs Crocop but Crocop is not the HW champ and Chuck vs Wandy but Wandy is not the 205 champ. obviously from a bussiness standpoint it would be smarter for Pride and the UFC to have a Crocop/Fedor, Sylvia/Barnett, Chuck/Wandy, Page or Ortiz/Shogun matchup rather then champ vs Champ. if the UFC had to pit Crocop as there number 2 then i garuntee you'd see Big Nog as Prides Number 2 because they want to give themselves the best chance of winning. blah blah blah. it is a great idea that would involve alot of organization cooperation. and these guys havent really shown the level of muturity to execute this idea. plus 40 million dollars from a Pride standpoint would just be like spending money on advertising win or lose they stand to benifet from this deal on a much greater scale then the UFC.

If you wanted to make it champ vs. champ then it would have to go like this.
HW
Fedor vs Sylvia
Cro Cop vs Big Nog
LHW
Liddell vs Henderson
Shogun vs Ortiz (not rampage because he lost many times in Pride maybe Evans? lol)
MW
Filho vs Silva(leave out Hendo at since Filho won the grand prix for MW i think? you can put him in)
Kang vs Franklin
WW (at 165)
GSP vs Gomi (finally)
Hughes vs. Sakurai
(not sure of those two can drop to 165 but w/e)

Misaki won the WW GP after Filho (who beat him in the semi) couldn't continue.
I think both GSP and Hughes would have serious problems going down to 165.
Besides, BJ would beat anyone at that weight anyway.

I really doubt he's uneducated. Maybe I'm getting my fighters mixed up but isn't he from a rich background? Though then again maybe he's like the Paris Hilton of MMA?

By the time the UFC & PRIDE could finalize any superfight like this, many of the champions would change.

This will never happen. As much as I love Pride, Ed is doing nobody a favor with ridiculous challenges.

I wouldn't want to see this and i sure hope Zuffa doesn't get PRIDE. Sorry to use a pro wrestling example here but didn't business go down BIG time for McMahon when he bought WCW. It seems to me you need two powers to keep things interesting, to keep the head of the companies motivated. Coke or Pepsi, McDonalds or BK, Nike or Adidas, etc...
