This guy is pretty narrow minded himself not all mma fans boo when a fight hits the ground in fact i do believe at the latest ufc which was in britan the crowd booed a slow fight. Also its real dumb to say that noyone likes a brawl he used the forrest stephan fight as an example. The is a fact to be faced forrest and stephan werent against top tier oppenents also i think what they were fighting for is the reason they fought the way they did. Would you try and submit the guy if his ground game is as good as yours and your trying to show dana white you want the contract prolly not. Exciting fights are what the crowd will like. Boxing right now is more popular than mma because to many people do veiw it as street fighting and not a sport. one thing that is for for sure neither boxing nor mma will ever go away. but every fight is different thats part of why you bet on them.

To be a MMArtist you need wrestling, jui jitsu, and some form of striking. Not to mention knowledge of the forms you are not skilled in. To say that no skills are portrayed is a bold lie.

You should go back and read it Rockem. There is a lot more support for MMA than I expected to see on a boxing site. It is like the flip side to the debate on FF concerning boxing and mma, with the majority favoring boxing there. But there are some members putting up good arguments for mma and some members who enjoy both and try not to compare the two.

You're probably right. But i know the arguements. So there's no reason to go through garbage like "MMA is for boxing rejects and homosexuals" just to get to the actual debate.

this really pisses me off. i've never been drunk at a fight, but i have been drunk and i would never boo a athlete.
it has nothing to do with being american, it has to do with being ignorant to mma. americans are not the only ones that are ignorant to mma.
Hooo yeah, I've been drunk at a fight. Never again, but the American fans did boo. It's embarrasing.

The only thing that bothers me is when people boo basically as soon as the fight goes to the ground and somebody's NOT getting their head punched in yet. I'm not getting into the pride/ufc thing, but you watch Pride and the audience applauds guard passes and subtle position improvements. Many times in UFC people boo right through a major ground maneuver. Again, NOT feeding a pride/ufc debate, just my personal observations, and no, I haven't seen every single fight in both organizations to say this is the norm all the time That being said, the OG post is a great one and I agree with your points made. And to the guy who mentioned SanShou, heck yeah man! Cung Lee (sp) is unbelievable.

Every always argues which is better..why can't you just have a favorite and enjoy them all. Personally I prefer kickboxing(K-1) but I enjoy all the fighting sports.

I worry about the people who must constantly put down one sport to build up their favorite.

Imagine being a fight fan but avoiding boxing and missing Gatti vs Ward or never seeing Ali fight. What about missing the Sherk upset of GSP or Souwer winning the K-1 again...

All I want is to see is the best vs the best....any fight sport any weight..just dont give me the alphabet soup crap that ruins the sports...

WBC vs IBF vs WBO VS WBA ruined boxing...PKA vs WKA vs WAKO vs KICK ruined kickboxing....will UFC vs K-1 heros vs Elitexc vs M-1 ruin mma...

It ruins it when because the top guys fight in separate organizations they never fight...most people could care less they just want good fights....
