Best MMA DVDS
OK boys and Rush!
I've only been following MMA for a short period of time (3-4 years) and I'm really wanting to build a decent DVD collection. So far I've only got the Ultimate fighter season 1, and I've ordered UFC 66, some pride one with Crocop, Fedor and rampage on it and UFC 68. What other DVDs do people recommend? Are any of those double DVD's with early UFC's any good? I'm looking for classic fights. MMA equivalant to Ali-Frazier 3, HAgler-Hearns, Corrales-Castillo 1 etc

i think you can go on Sherdog and check out the fight cards from events and pick out the ones you want.
Pride Final Conflict 2005 is great if you want to see Fedor vs. CroCop.

One of the best deals is the Bushido Boxset. I got mine for 30 cdn, about 5$ more than a normal mma dvd and came with the first 3 bushido's. You get to see fighters like Cro Cop, Silva, Minowa, Shogun, etc. Great deal

Yea, go check out what Sherdog has-- a lot of the sets are priced pretty good. Remember though, a good collection has to have some of the old fights!

Mike,
Get yourself 'UFC Ultimate Knockouts 1 and 2'. It will introduce you to a bunch of the old school guys and several of the new ones. You'll learn a bunch of names and you'll find yourself looking them up.

Pitbull is correct.
Get a couple of those compilations.
From PRIDE you could get Hardcore Knockouts 1 and Hardcore Submissions 1.
And if/when they put out the DVD of the recent PRIDE PPV called Decade, that's surely worth getting.

I only got to watch a little bit of Decade before I went golfing and I must say, from what I have seen, it is great. I am getting this on DVD if it comes out for sure.

Id recommend any of the Pride Grand Prix boxsets, the 2003 Middleweight GP is probably a good one to start with.

Received Ultimate Knockouts box-set 1-4 today with a bonus "ultimate submissions" disc. Seen half of the first one and it is class(it starts with the tank abbott KO where it looks like the guys neck is broken) Really good for looking at established guys like BJ and Jens pulver when they were little whippersnappers! Really cool to see footage of Pat Militech (v Shonie Carter) Always hearing about him but never seen him in action. Cheers Pit for the reccomendation! As soon as I have paid Gooner off for making my avatar, i'll donate you some points!
BTW. I've noticed in my UFC 66 DVD, that the UFC have dubbed music over the entrance tunes. eg. Instead of "mosh" for Tito, there is this god-awful techno tune. Is this to do with copyright laws? It's a pity, because it takes away from the build-up of the fight! Anyone able to explain this?

I'm glad you enjoy the dvds, Mike. And yeah I'm guessing the UFC doesn't want to pay the artists for the music appearing on the DVD.
Last month I bought UFC 63 and I was excited about BJ's entrance. On the PPV event, he used the song 'Crazy' by Gnarles Barkley. On the dvd it was some song I didn't even recognize.

Yea the Bushido set is awesome. Pride Legacy sets are good too. Just look for anything where you're getting multiple events. There's a couple of two event UFCs out, but i don't remember which. I have KOTC Underground Heroes. 10 event set, cost me 20 bucks. Well worth it.
