Last thing to go from a boxer is power and Tyson has this. The last few guys he fought were not top contenders but they were huge guys and could withstand his power for 3-4 rounds. After this Tyson lost his will.

I disagree.. we are supposing chuck wonīt be able to take the shots, first of all, who says chuck will let him drop them on him, another thing is, Tyson doesnīt have the power he used to and there is no recent fight of his, which proves otherwise. Nobody knows if Chuck will or will not be able to dodge out of the way of those shots, which Tyson canīt even put together lately. If you have noticed, when Tyson getīs hit a few times, it totally derails him out of his game plan, and the fight is over for him. He grew up knocking people out left and right, and he did have an exciting career from 85 to 90. Sadly, he doesnīt fight like he did, but chuck fight better than ever.
The only real handicap Chuck has, is his weight. Exit is right, this fight will never happen. Not in the ring, not in the octagon. But I find is strange that people donīt give the UFC Lightheavyweight Champion any chance against an old, washed out Tyson, based on his power. Power is not everything, you need to apply that power. If power was everything the strongest MMA fighters would be the best, and that is not the case, most of the champs are not the strongest, but they are complete. Tyson is not complete, he relies on his punching power, by the time he tries to set it in, chuck could have hit him 20 times. LHWīs are much faster than HWīs.
Anway Chuck is not even in Tysonīs weightclass.

Damn straight. In a MMA match there is no question that chuck would destroy tyson.
He would have more difficulty in a boxing match, but the end result would be around the same. The tyson of today is too old,and lacks that "killer instinct" mentel focus and the drive to win. He would also probabley underestimate chuck greatly like he did his last few opponents, especially since chuck is technically not a "boxer",and tyson would end up tottally floored before he knew it.

Some of you guys are completely insane!
I like Chuck as next as the next guy, but seriously.... He would not be able to handle the power of Mike Tyson.
Think about it, Chuck fights in mixed martial arts, he works on being a well rounded fighter, and he weighs about 205 and wears 1-4 ounce gloves in the ring. So, given the ounce you have to give a pretty sharp punch to knock someone out, but compare that to a glove with more padding, how hard would the punch have to be then?
Mike Tyson, trains at being a well boxer, punching. He weighs 230-240. Lets say Tyson wears a 12 ounce glove, so think about the punching power you need behind that weight glove, and the force you would need to knock someone out while holding that glove up for a few rounds.
Okay, run down on the size of the two fighters.
Chuck is 6'2 and lets say weighs 205
Mike is 5'11 and lets say weighs 235
Liddell has to be in good shape all over, that means his muscle and strength isn't all upper body. Tyson has to have all upper body strength.
Mike has over 30 pounds over Liddell that is all muscle, Mike is so much more stronger than Liddell, in punching power, in raw strength. Look at their heights too, Liddell has a lot of that weight in his height, so pretty much Liddell is VERY VERY small to be fighting someone like Mike Tyson.
Has Liddell EVER EVER EVER fought anyone as big and powerful as Tyson? No, never, and he probably never will because he will lose. Has Tyson EVER EVER EVER fought anyone as small as Liddell? No, everyone he fights is bigger, or the same size, reason being Tyson would kill someone at that size. Liddell is pretty much a twig stepping in to a tree here....
Look at their fight records, who they have knocked out now.
Who has Liddell knocked out?
Jeremy Horn, Randy Couture, Vernon White, Tito Ortiz, Alistair Overeem, Guy Mezger, Kevin Randleman, and Paul Jones. Some of those aren't even regular punches either, few may be on the ground striking.
8 knock outs by strikes/punches. None of these guys are as big as Tyson. None of these guys are as strong as Tyson. None of these guys could EVER even TRAIN with Tyson just because they are so much smaller, not even as strong either. It wouldn't be worth having these guys train for a boxing match. No way in HELL any of these guys could do anything in the boxing ring just boxing against pro boxers like Tyson, so none can compare!
Who has Liddell lost to and how?
Quinton Jackson- TKO - STRIKES.
Randy Couture- TKO - PUNCHES.
Jeremy Horn- TKO - Arm Triangle(Doesn't matter here, wont have anything to do with it.)
So Quinton Jackson and Randy Couture have knocked Liddell out with punches.
Tyson's rap sheet here is too long to go through, but here it is
Pretty impressive. 44 knockouts, REAL knockouts. Strictly punches.
As far as endurance? Not even a factor since Tyson would knock Liddell out so fast in the first round. But, Tyson trains for TWELVE 3 minute rounds. Liddell trains for FIVE 5 minute rounds.
12 x 3 = 36
5 x 5 = 25
I used Windows Calculator for that.
Questions though, what size gloves are they wearing? Time limit per round? How many rounds? Just wondering since everyone thinks without a doubt Liddell would win, put these in to consideration as well....
Now, come on. Do you people SERIOUSLY think Liddell would be able to knock Mike Tyson out?
Tyson may not be the same boxer he was 10 years ago or more, but he is still and will always be a better boxer than Liddell.
BTW, I'v been reading this site for a long time now, just because it is so damned informative! I mean I get a lot of my info from here because a lot of you are smart. But, this thread angered me. It gives NO respect to the boxing world what-so-ever. So I HAD to join and put in my word.

Can you show me the source of your claim, that chuck only trains 5x5 rounds.

I didn't say he only trains for that, just giving an idea of what a boxer/fighter expects and sees as the longest they will have to fight in the ring, so its not like they train for 20 seven minute rounds, they realize what kind of fight will go on as worst possible outcome and what kind of time to expect..... Out of all I had to say, that was your only reply? heh
Chuck doesn't look like he is in the kind of shape to handle a 12 round boxing match though,he will have to shed some off his gut..... Any body shots from a real pro boxer would really hurt Chuck bad

Yeah, out of all you had to say that was my reply.Because this thread is like all the other threads with ANYTHING about Tyson. You got one side rooting for Tyson and the other side rooting for whoever else..and it will go on forever. By the way Hardcore Kickboxers, train 30 minutes non-stop, very similar to Boxers.
I am not going to debate with you over who is going to win, go back to my previous posts, I have stated why Chuck does have a good chance of winning. No need to repeat it. Everything you said is based on pure speculation, of Chuck not being able to withstand, not being able to go the rounds, not being able this and that, but you donīt really know that for sure.
All this talk about Chuck not being able to withstand his punches.. Chuck has a preety good chin, better than McBride or Danny Williams anyday.
Boxers have gotten slaughtered in MMA fights. You talk as if Boxers have over dimensional powers. If that was the case, how come they canīt make it to the top in K1, they have lighter gloves.. that would mean they would knock people silly. But itīs not happening, and in MMA they have never had a chance. No reason to even speculate what Chuck would do to Tyson in the Octagon.
Fact is, Tyson is a shadow of his past, he lost to two of the weakest fighters in the divison, and is a broken man. That doesnīt speak for him at all. If Tyson was even 50% of what he used to be, I would not give Chuck a chance.. but itīs not like that.
Anyway kiddo, this is a fantasy thread. So the fight wonīt happen anyway, unless Tyson comes to the UFC and loses about 25 pounds. But tell you the truth, I want to see MMA at itīs best, not ex-boxers looking for new ways to make money.

I am talking about real pro boxers who have been boxing their whole life. Not fighters who specialize in boxing but join MMA.... In any MMA fight, I would have to say ANY boxer who is a real pro boxer who is currently fighting big names would probably lose to up and coming MMA fighters, or even lower class ones too. Basically, because of lack of experience. I'm not doubting that at all, hell I bet Matt Hughes would probably beat Tyson in a MMA fight.... Tyson is a strong person though, Don't know if you saw his last fight or not(lot of people see pictures and the final words on the bout and throw assumptions) Tyson was doing very good, he wasn't really protecting himself as good as he usually does though and was taking a lot of hits. Tyson quit the fight either because he took a dive for some fast $$ and had some bets under the table(lots of rumors on this) or he was just thinking long term because he was taking some hard hits to the head.....
Either way, back to the topic, Tyson would lose horribly in a MMA fight against pretty much most UFC fighter. One way they could take him down is a few kicks to the legs of Tyson, he would fall so easily from that, have you ever seen Tysons legs? They are like chicken legs compared to UFC fighters....
Also, why would Tyson be coming to the UFC and lose 25 pounds? I thought this was if Chuck and Tyson squared away in a boxing match. I stand by my word, Tyson would kill Chuck in a real boxing match within the first round.

66-8-1(56 KOS) Sounds like a pretty good record huh? Well it's the combined record of Williams and McBride. In my opinion they are far from the bottem of the heavyweight division. I guess SeikanJudanski is probally 100-0 with 100 KO's, you obviously don't know as much about boxing as you think you do, and have no respect for boxers. I am not saying Williams and McBride are at the top but I would give them some credit before I started making fun. I believe the fight was a boxing match or a MMA match on feet. Lets try to be serious.

This thread is getting ridiculous. Instead of staying on the topic, you want to get personal. If you think McBride and Williams are good Boxers, then thatīs your decision. Most people didnīt even know who the heck McBride was before he fought Tyson, now everybody is trying to make him look like he is something special. About me not knowing anyting about boxing, or disrespecting Boxers.. thatīs nonsense. And you know it. First of all, you a newbie on this site, who thinks he can just pop into a thread and decide what I know, or what I respect or donīt respect, second, I love boxing, and I love good fights. That wonīt change the fact that McBride sux, neither does it mean I disrepect boxers in general, I give credit where credit is due.
By the way, whatīs this with the combined record of Williams and Mcbride, you donīt combine records of two different Boxers to make a point.
Kevin McBride is 33 and 4. His last fight was against Tyson, this is the best fighter he has ever faced in his life. His fight before Tyson ??? LOL. Marcus Rhode, Marcus lost 22 fights before he lost to Mcbride. What about Lenzie Morgan? he lost 26 fights before he lost to McBride..what about the Micheal Murrays, Steve Garbers or Carl Gaffenys. McBride is a nothing, his opponents have a combined loss record of over 200 losses.. Lol.. or what about Jimmy harriso.. lol, he lost 34 fights before McBride beat him.
McBride has fought only TWO fighters which are even known. Mike Tyson, and Axel Shulz, and he lost to Axel Shulz.
so who cares about some combined record of McBride and Williams.. and speaking of Williams, who has Williams beat except Tyson and Francis? nobody worth mentioning.
You canīt just go to some site, add up two records and make it look like these boxers are contenders. Maybe it would have been wiser, to actually look at McBrideīs opponents, before yapping about his record.
Now, if YOU had some respect for Boxing or Boxers, you wouldnīt even dare to say McBride is a good Boxer.
This is the end of the thread for me. You can post all you want, you have no credibility about boxing in my eyes. Not if you consider McBride, whoīs opponents EACH have lost more fights, than some pro-Boxers total fight records.

Why do we continually pit this loser against all the great MMA fighter's or even great boxers? How about Ali vs. Chuck? Or somebody who knows how to box/fight, and doesn't act like an idiot everytime he's center stage.

I totally agree, Tyson was never a very good ambasador to the sport of boxing.

you have a good point here. Tyson does seem to make his way into many many comparisons. the likely answer is that Tyson is still alive and able to fight. that its a fight people can visualize since they still see Tyson compete. you could use Ali but i think the answer to that question is too obvious. Chuck vs. Ali would end up in a Ali victory. Chuck vs. Foreman? same result, a Liddell loss. Chuck vs. Tyson in his prime? another loss for Chuck. the Tyson of today Vs. Chuck? thats something that people can question.

Well, if the fights were just boxing...he'd lose. Then again, Chuck's pretty much stand up only.

i think maybe it's time to put a ban on the Tyson vs. (insert fighter here) threads. they don't prove anything and they certainly don't accomplish anything.

I agree with that. I am soooooooooooooo sick of Mike Tyson period. Let alone, how he'd fair against others. There are plenty of better fighters/warriors out there than Mr. Tyson to have these threads with.
