Lidell vs Tyson?
I wanted to get controversial
Edit* We'll say MMA but assume that they keep it standing. So we'll even just say boxing. And I'm talking about the current Mike Tyson of today as if he and Chuck fought tomorrow.

Thats simple, Tyson K.O. in Rd. 1. I know Liddell has a hard chin and hard punch but he hasn't been hit like Tyson would hit him.

you did'nt say whether it'd be a MMA match or a boxing match? i am assuming you meant MMA match and in that case i would say Chuck would take Tyson to the ground. of course Chuck might feel he has something to prove and satnd with him. but Chuck is no fool and would'nt do that. Chuck wins by submission.

OK edited the first post. We'll say a boxing match. And this is the Tyson of today as if they were fighting tomorrow.

in that case i would say Chuck just the same. he is so unorthodox that i think Tyson might be fooled.

I would say so too. It's weird, he has that low open guard that you'd think any decent boxer would pick apart but then his punches come at such weird angles.

of course i would change my opinion if he were to fight Tyson in his prime...but with age you lose a little bit. maybe Chuck would feel bad for beating down and old man like Tyson.

Seriously? Result: Liddell KTFO by Tyson in 30 sec. After that maybe Tyson will steal the belt and can wear the UFC light heavyweight belt around the asylum for a little while. LOL.

Anyone Can Be Knocked Out at Any Given Time
It's tough to say who would win a stand up contest between Tyson & Lidell. Both fighter have proved to have quick knockout power, with an edge going to Tyson with the hands.
It depends on how much the range is limited as who would have an advantage. It's no secret that Mike has some serious endurance issues.
If there is any use of the legs, Chuck will easily pick apart Tyson, who's career has turned into a complete train wreck while Chuck's skyrockets.

Chuck Liddell is fighting at 205, right? Tyson is 235 (IIRC). I think Tyson would have to drop down to 205, which could be a lot for Tyson. I think that Liddell is likely in better shape than Tyson is currently.
I just don't see Tyson winning in any serious octagon MMA event against Chuck Liddell. Tyson would go down faster then Jeremy Horn (IMO).
If it were just a straight boxing match, then Tyson would have a better chance (he is 50-6-2 with 44 KOs). I still doubt that he could meet Chuck Liddell's weight class. As long as Chuck holds the LHW title, then he will not agree to change weight class to fight Tyson. Tyson fights as a HW at around 235 or 245 pounds.
I would rather watch the MMA match between these two... Just to see how tough Tyson really is when he is allowed to use more than just his hands. I wonder if he has any ground skills, or if he knows how to toss knees and elbows effectively. I bet Liddell would school Tyson in MMA...

Tyson at age 20, scares the bejesus out of me. The Tyson of today, would more than likely get his ass knocked out by ole Chuckie.

I have to say Tyson in his prime would have probably beaten Chuck, Tyson back then was awesome. However, seeing as the question is for the here and now, my money's on Chuck winning by KO. I think he's in better shape physically and certainly in better shape mentally.

Tyson and MMA? never gonna happen, and the way Tyson has been acting in the ring lately, I would go with Chuck in a boxing match. However there is always the possibility that Tyson lands a solid punch, in that case it would be by e bye chuck..
Tyson in MMA - NO.
Chuck and Tyson in a Boxing match - Chuck.

In a MMA fight chuck wins easily, only in a boxing match would tyson would have a chance. Others talk about tysons punching power, well maybe in his prime but not the current much older tyson now.
Chuck's boxing skills w/some refinement, would probabley beat him.

Tyson actually has trained in muay thai and wrestling, so he might have some sort of skills in those areas.

He could maybe be a K1 sideshow, but there is a good reason why you dont see boxers in MMA.
