Money and bragging rights. I didnt know that the "sport" of competative eating was as big as it is. If you are someone like Chestnut or Kobayashi, then you can travle the world winning money almost nonstop through the year.

I watched their "training" one time on TV. Chestnut would sit down and eat about 11 pounds of food and water in one setting to stretch his stomach. A lot of it was stuff like pudding. I guess there seems something wrong to me for these guys to try to stuff over 50 hot dogs in their mouth (not to mention the other competitions like hot wings, hard boiled eggs, etc.) when much of the world will go to bed tonight hungry.

The issue isn't the amount of food available to the world populace, it's the location of the populace in relation to arrable land and several other factors.
Kobayashi may not even enter this year's event, so Chestnut has to be the odds on favorite, but don't be surprised if Kobayashi does participate, dedicating the even to his recently deceased mother, and blows the whole field away in a tearjerker moment.

Where do you even access the VIP Lounge section. I looked at the FF shop and didn't see anything there to purchase. Inquiring minds want to know!
EDIT: Nevermind. I found it. I don't mind paying the 50K, it's losing my right testicle that bothers me.
