Strikeforce: Shamrock vs Cung Le 3/29/08
StrikeForce: Shamrock vs Cung Le
HP Pavilion, San Jose, CA
5pm PCT, 3/29/08
Televised Bouts (on Showtime):
-Frank Shamrock vs. Cung Le
-Nick Diaz vs. Jae Suk Lim
-Gilbert Melendez vs. Gabe Lemley
-Mike Kyle vs. Wayne Cole
-Joey Villasenor vs. Ryan Jensen
Non-Televised Bouts:
-Tiki Ghosn vs. Luke Stewart
-Jesse Jones vs. Jesse Gillespie
-Darren Uyenoyama vs. Anthony Figueroa
With the rate this card has changed in the last week, almost none of these fights are guaranteed to happen! LOL!! I expect that the bookmakers will eventually release odds on the Kyle-Cole and Villasenor-Jensen fights.
As always draws are considered losses for both betting wise. More fights will be added to the vBookie as they become available and guaranteed to happen.

The WEC event will probably pay out some time tommorrow, so you should still have plenty of time to bet before this locks up.

If Nick fights at the same level as he did against KJ Noons or Mike Aina (his last two fights), he will lose. Jae Suk Lim is very talented and has done very well in SpiritMC. Denis Kang thinks very highly of him as does Dong-Sik Yoon (thanks Aika). Diaz needs to bring his A game, the one we last saw over a year ago against Gomi.

I really don't like Nick Diaz, so I think you just persuaded me to drop a few points on Lim.... the odds didn't hurt in making that decision either though.

My pleasure, Irish. I'm thinking about putting some points on lil' Shammy, too.

That means absolutely nothing. EliteXC's website is one of the worst in updating in the MMA business. Most of their accurate info can be found on their parent company's site, ProElite.com.
In fact, Diaz is still listed today on EliteXC's site despite the fact that his exclusion has been confirmed by EliteXC's president, Gary Shaw.

Yeah, I was only hoping. I don't really care for either site really. The free streaming events from Proelite.com don't work in mozilla, so I almost never go there anymore. I said it in another thread, but I am not sure if EliteXC is the best choice to represent MMA on network TV. Stuff like this just makes me worry more.

I'm torn on who to bet on as far as the Kung Le / Shamrock fight is concerned. Shamrock will have the better conditioning and the better ground game but Kung Le is the better striker. Also, Le hasnt faced top level talent either so its hard to judge how he will perform against someone of Franks abilities.
I think Frank was on his way to a submission loss against Gracie until he got DQ'd for the illegal knees. I think the way to beat Frank is probably on the ground and keeping control of him. However, Kung Le has a lacking ground game at best.
I think Ill wait to see how some of you guys bet before I finally put some points down.
