I'm totally gutted by this result......Although could be worse, my mate had $500 on Mayweather to win by decision. Needless to say the table we were sitting at in the pub sustained a few injuries haha.

I doubt Cotto would have a chance. His style is perfect for Mayweather. I bet the fight happens as Mayweather will look at it as an easy fight and a huge payday.

not sure i agree there... hattons style was perfect for mayweather, as he comes forward he can just pick him off and move fast... cotto is a little more well rounded

I wish Manny Pacquiao would fight Floyd, I think manny will beat him, other tha that I also wish someone from the UFC calls him out, I know Floyd does not stand a chance against an MMA figther not even the mediocre ones. I would want to see him fighting BJ Penn or even Sean Sherk. Floyd does not know how to defend himself against take downs and once he is on the floor he will be DONE.
I truly hate Floyd.

I think Manny is too small to fight Floyd. Hatton was too small to fight Floyd. As much as I dislike Floyd, he truly is one of the best boxers of our time. That KO was very Roy Jones Jr. ish.

That hook was it for Ricky. I would like to see PBF challenge Cotto though and maybe Winky since he is good in defense.

Hatton seems frustrated thru the fight..I think thats wat Money May tried and successfully did. Once Hatton seems to slow down in the 8-9 round..its all Mayweather from there.
A few ppl are calling out Cortez for being biased towards May and "over-officiate" the fight but i dunno..wat do u think?

I was really impressed with this fight, if all boxing was like this Id definately be an avid fan. Unfortunately the undercard was probably the most uninteresting 2 hours Ive had in recent memory. Dana was right imo when he said that boxing suffers from only having one big/decent fight per event.
I was rooting for Hatton so it was a shame to see him lose like that, but Floyd completely deserved the win, he just looked on another level. Was funny to see how different he is post-fight to what he was like before the fight. Kinda reminded me of Tito in that sense.
I was also embarrased by the Brits in the audience boo'ing the American national anthem.

I do think it was a great fight, and with the way the fight ended up going, Mayweather deserved to win the fight and he looked amazing in the latter rounds.
I do believe they shouldn't of had Cortez as the referee, because he was american for a start, and I do think he was biased in the fight. There is nothing wrong with a boxer fighting on the inside, and the ref knew this as he let shots from Mayweather go from the inside, but as soon as Hatton connected with one he broke them up. Mayweather was the one holding on also, so for everyone who believes Hatton was wrestling with Mayweather need to watch it again.
However, what you shouldn't do as a boxer is to turn your back away from boxer as that is a dangerous act, but somehow Hatton got a point deducted for that as well. So deep down, for a fight of that importance, 3 american judges and an american ref just isn't good enough, because Mayweather wasn't 8 or 9 points ahead either.
Overall, Mayweather deserved to win as he was the better boxer, but if the ref let both boxers fight their own styles, the fight would of been different, might of been the same outcome, but it would of been a different fight.

As Mulla said. I was also very embarrassed by the morons booing the American National Anthem. I'm sure it did wonders for UK/US relations. The only thing I will say in their defence, is that most of them were probably too thick or drunk to realise the offence they were causing.
The ref did appear to break things up a bit early in the first few rounds, but I don't think it changed the outcome.
Well done PBF ,I still don't like you though, lol.

I totally agree. I just finished watching the fight now. I also beleive that Cortez did not separate them fairly or if he did, he was always looking towards Hatton, when in fact Mayweather was doing much more of the holding and grabbing. Ricky's "punch" at the back of Floyd's head (when he turned his back), never connected...
Regardless, in the end, Floyd simply out-boxed hatton, and the KO proved it..

mayweather clearly outboxed hatton....hatton couldn't bully mayweather like he does lighter fighters......can not stand mayweather as a human being but man he sure can box....one of the best ever......awesome left hook in round ten,,,
