Hatton v Castillo
Ricky Hatton defends his Light-Welterweight title against Jose Luis Castillo in Vegas this Saturday!!! I cant wait! This is gonna be a blazer! Both men love to trade. Hatton fights like a mexican fighter! If Ricky performs well and wins, it could set him up for a super-fight with Cotto or Mayweather!
This could be fight of the year. I'll be amazed If it goes the distance! I am definately buying the PPV
Man United player Wayne Rooney is bringing Ricky's belts to the ring! Marco Antonio Barrera is also involved in his entrance to.

No, we dont get HBO over here!
I hear Ricky is planning on changing his nickname to "The Manchester Mexican" and coming in with a sombrero and mariachi band for the fight!! This is not a joke! Read it in the newspaper today!!

God!! News is happening fast on this one! Rumours now that Oscar De La Hoya might fancy a crack at Hatton IF Hatton wins! The feeling being that beating an undefeated champ would be a great way for him to bow out! He's all but ruled out a re-match with Floyd! Which is a pity, I watched the fight again last night and was still getting excited by the build up!!

Hatton trains at UFC gym!
Hatton (42-0, 30 KOs) was pumped and ready to go to war at the UFC Zuffa Gym in Las Vegas yesterday as he put on some of the final touches for Saturday's collision with Jose Luis Castillo (55-7-1, 47 KOs) at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Yeah he is! But he's big mates with Rooney apparently! Rooney came down to Billy Grahams gym a few times and did light sparring with Ricky! Ricky said that he's not a bad boxer!

I am not a fan of boxing but I am intrested in this fight. 42-0... amazing record for Hatton, how come he hasnt had that many titles, or held them for very long?
Has any boxer got a bette record than 42 for 0 defeats or draws (only wins), I know PBF Mayweather has 38-0 or something.
How much will this fight cost, 14.95 in the UK? I probably wont get it.

most of his fights are in england where he is a fan favorite, and if he wins and get a fight with dela hoya i hope it wouldbe at 155pounds so we can see him transit up in weight like pbf.any boxer fighting hatton has to be crazy to go to england to fight or challenge him because of the judges thats why the fight with mayweather never happened

Great performance from Ricky! So many options for him now! Mostly at Welterweight! Mosely, PBF, De la Hoya, Malignannii, Casamayor and my choice Cotto! What a fight that would be! Perfect styles for each other! Both undefeated!
I loved Winky Wright's face at ringside when Hatton landed the body shot!! He started wincing as if he'd been hit!

If he can't get Floyd to come out of retirement, I agree that Cotto should be his next fight. Good fight and impressive win. I thought it was pretty crappy of Max to ask him about the fact that it was a shell of the Castillo we saw against Corrales. Like it was Hatton's fault. No one knew tha Castillo would look that bad going into the fight and in hindsight people want to say that,"Well, he beat a already beaten up Castillo."
Hatton is really growing on me and I enjoy the british fans with their energy and singing.

That body shot was on the button and Hatton vs. Cotto fight will be awesome. I think if Hatton can call out Mayweather to fight, this fight would be better than the Cotto vs. Hatton fight. I give the most respect for Hatton for caring about the Corrales family, and giving his condolences on national t.v...That was very nice of him to do that.

Funny, those fools up on the ESPN board are claiming Casty took a dive.
I think Castillo is done. he's still got years. but them wars have caught up to him quickly.
I think Emmanuel Steward said it best about Hatton: he needs to stay in that weight class and just Dominate. He has the chin for welter, but not the power. he has lots of money fights he can make at higher weights...but I dont know about his chances...
