Default Amir Khan - Future world champion

It's only his second professional fight tomorrow since winning silver medal at the olympics, but I expect great things from this young British light welterweight. He's only 18 but very impressive indeed, and a great personality out of the ring too.

I predict an easy win over Baz Carey, then further on to world domination

Go Amir!!

Yes, another confident performance from the youngster. He's got a long way to go though, and he's on a learning curve still, but I agree Mulla, a bright future ahead of him, and IMO I can see him being World Champion at 19 and beyond, no problem

There wouldn't be a bias in your opinion because he's British, right? No j/k, tell me more about him I've not had the privlege of watching him fight. Is he a quick boxer or a slugger, tall is he, and stuff like that, and if I ever hear of him fighting I'll be sure to watch it and root for him.

Well there probably is just a little bit of bias because he's British There has been a lot of hype around him over here since he won silver at the Olympics and then turned pro, but it is definitely justified.

He's a very quick boxer with very fast hands, and as a matter of fact after the fight, Don King, who was extremely impressed with him, actually likened him to the great Sugar Ray Robinson.

He's not the biggest by any means, and IMO all he needs to do is beef up a little bit and get more power and stamina before he challenges for titles, but then he's only 18 so that's going to happen naturally anyway along with his training. The skill and speed is already there.

Just to keep this thread updated:

Amir Khan easily beat Steve Gethin tonight. The fight was stopped in the 49th second of the third round to save Gethen from further punishment.

After the fight Khan said:

"I fought a brilliant fight and I thank everybody in Scotland," said Khan after his victory.

"I am obviously not 100% yet, it will take time but I will keep this going. I hit him with some good shots, I hit him hard so I think it was right to stop the fight.

"I'm still learning and I want to make the step up all the time. The fights will get harder and harder and I will learn more all the time."

Well done Amir, keep it going

Thanks for the updates, Weasel.
I will need to check out more fights by Khan first so I can voice my opinion on him then.
