Default Taylor v Pavlik

This fight is happening in September! Boxing is getting its act together! We are now seeing the fights we want to see! This year has been great. I havent seen much of Pavlik, but from what i have seen and heard, he looks very promising. Credit to Taylor for taking on such a dangerous opponent. I dont like Taylors fighting style, but I have total respect for him in that he always wants to take on the best and never ducks. i.e Hopkins, Wright and now Pavlik. Maybe now the winner of this one will take on the winner of Calzaghe and Kessler!

you remeber after the taylor spinks fight he said he'll fight whoever is paying the most so that's wwhat he meant.wright did'nt get the rematch because he wanted a 50/50 split and the champ aint having it.

Based on what Wright said the week after fight he didnt want a rematch b/c he felt he was robbed. I wouldnt give him 50% either; although I do believe that the pay should be based on the result of the fight.

As far as Pavlik v Taylor.....that should make for a very exciting fight. Pavlik will stand and trade w/ Taylor unlike his previous couple of fights where the guys were smaller and danced around a little. I think Taylor will hurt Pavlik w/ his power over the course of the fight and will KO him in some fashion w/i the last 4 rounds of the fight. It should be a very good fight up until it ends however, I think Pavlik will hurt Taylor as well but I feel Taylor has a little more power and that will give him the edge.

pavlik has a good chance of winning this fight. After seeing what he did to edison miranda, i have full faith in him. Even though Taylor is a proficient boxer, Pavlik IMO has the ability to break down not only Taylor's defense, but also his offense. Of course anything can happen, but if the odds are against Pavlik, I think that is a bet I would be willing to take. He's a deceptively tough fighter from Youngstown, Ohio. Good Luck, Pavlik. I hope you do what Winky shoulda done. You have the skill, talent and power to do it.

Pavlik looked very good. I'm actually glad boxing is starting to put together the fights that need to happen. Hopefully they'll keep it up.

These state athletic commissions really need to take a look at the qualifications of these judges, in boxing and MMA. That was ridiculous. I'm happy for Pavlik though, he finished nice and strong.

Regardless of who won this fight it was gonna be a KO of some kind. Destroyed IMHO would have been a 1st or 2nd round KO but thats just me.....

I didn't think the judges had it wrong. I had Taylor winning 58-55 (4 rounds to 2) and I can't stand Taylor. I thought Lederman had it wrong and was wondering what fight he was watching. I'm not sure what you were seeing that would be ridiculous. I think that you might have been influenced by Lederman's scorecard and the pro-Pavlik crowd. If anything, his scorecard was ridiculous. If they re-match, I could see the same thing happening. Taylor outboxes Pavlik and gets caught. I also could see Taylor outboxing him and winning a lopsided decision.

Great job by Pavlick coming back from the early thrashing. I did not think it was 4 rounds to 2 in favor of Taylor.

I saw Pavlik landing more meaningful shots and jabbing more effectively. I had Taylor by 1 point going into the 7th with the knockdown being the only difference and the punchstat numbers told the same story.... Not sure what you or the judges were watching, but it wasn't the same fight as the rest of us.

Just watched the fight and I agree that Pavlik wasn't that far behind in the scorecards like what the judges had.

But Pavlik had the heart to get up from the knocked down in the second round to finish Taylor in the 7th.

So I had it 4 to 2 (so did the judges) and you had it 3 to 3 with a knockdown. So once again I say what was so ridiculous? We were a round apart. If you give one of those rounds to Pavlik, it comes to 57-56. You're not going to convince anyone of robbery.
