Interesting move and I wonder how it will be received in the European boxing community.

I'm not happy, but at least it might give Calzaghe some more exposure. I'm in two minds whether I should pay for it now.
I hope they both have readjusted their body clocks. Fighting at 1 am is usually reserved for brawls outside kebab shops over here.

I know that it is free in the U.S. on HBO, surely they are not making the U.K. people pay for it.....

That hurts my feelings even more, lol. Yes we have to pay for it unfortunately.
It's on a channel called Setanta, £5 a month and i think it's £10 sign up fee. I'm guessing they are so desperate for the Americans to see Calzaghe fight that they are showing it for free.
He better win, or else all that effort will be for nothing.

Really? Sweet Ive got Setanta til the 10th Nov from when I had to sign up for UFC75!
I feel bad for the fighters having to wait til 1am to fight! Do you think they'll try and live in Eastern American time for a week or so before the fight, so their bodies think they're boxing at the usual 9pm-ish time?

Good job Joe,now the unified champ. A convincing points victory, where he was a better boxer on the night. His chin was tested on several occasions and I was a bit concerned in the last round. Two judges put him 4 points ahead and one put him 6 ahead. Next Bernard Hopkins?

Calzaghe is the man. Hopefully Hatton can do the same to Mayweather (but win by KO)
He wants Bernard Hopkins next.
From BBC ( BBC SPORT | Boxing | Calzaghe targets two-weight glory)
Quote:
Calzaghe's promoter Frank Warren said: "Joe will go to the States. He will fight Mr Hopkins in his home town. He will go to Philadelphia to fight him. He will fight him anywhere to get this on.
"Bernard Hopkins is a great fighter and a great athlete," added Warren.
"But go back and think of the great fighters, the Ray Leonards, the Tommy Hearns', the Marvin Haglers. They fought everybody. They didn't duck.
"If Bernard Hopkins is the warrior he says he is then make the fight, make that fight with Joe Calzaghe."
