Default David Haye calls out Wladimir Klitschko

Personnally I think he's getting carried away with himself! I would like to see him take on the mid card heavy's before calling out Wlad! Guys like Briggs and Brock would be nice tests for him to prepare him for Klitcshko! I would love to see Haye as Heavyweight Champ! He would be great for the sport

I disagree. He should better fight some Europeans, as the European style is nothing like the American style that, I think, he is more used to.
By the way, I heard Brock has a serious problem with his eye - if it's true, he's probably out of the question.

Yeah, actually, you are correct on Brock's eye. He has double vision or something. Read about that a while ago. The reason I think he should fight Americans is a business one. Haye will become a bigger name if he fights Rahman, Briggs even Peter (Nigerian I know but a pretty respected name in the States) etc than Poevkin, Ibragimov, Chaglev. I believe Wlad would fight him in a heartbeat if the HBO PPV bandwagon was all over Haye (which it undoubtably would If he beat Peter or Rahman) Its the same problem Cotto has in getting PBF. He's not yet a big marquee star.
Haye for me is the new hope for heavyweight boxing. He has speed, power and exciting "Left elbow onto the chest followed by a big overhand right style" and likes to get at people. He is charasmatic and always good for a soundbite. He is very marketable to a mainstream audience. Big, good looking lad who can fight and is in shape! I hope he fights, and beats Wlad (who in fairness, ticks all the above boxes in terms of marketability, but always flatters to decieve when it counts! His near admission after his performance against Ibragimov, that he knew it was a boring fight, but he would rather protect himself, fight boring and win over 12 horrible rounds than risk injury and defeat, left a sour taste in a lot of fans mouths! Wlad could have become a superstar that night with an impressive performance. The boxing world was dying for a dominant champion! But he didnt deliver when it mattered! Therefore, I hope its Hayes time! He is young, hungry and understands the business of the sport

Obviously, the big concern with David Haye is can he effectively carry the extra weight at Heavyweight! Wlad is an enormous Heavyweight and I'm not convinced Haye's power would transfer the same in the new division. He KO'ed Thomas Bonin (Spell?) in 1 round at Heavy before. But Bonin was Blown up to Hell!

Good point. I have seen Haye at heavyweight and he hit extremely hard.
Problem is, Klitschko is tall and fights tall, therefore laverage will be a decisive factor.

How tall is Klitschko? 6'5"? is he? I'm not sure.
Lamon Brewster in the first fight showed how to use diminutive stature to beat him. (as opposed to the 2nd fight where he just appeared to eat a lot in training camp and come with a gameplan of walking around Wlad and never throw a punch)

There is also a doubt about Haye's ability to go 12 hard rounds. The feeling at the Big Mac (Enzo Macaranelli) fight was, If it went past 6 rounds, Big Mac would win. That theory has never been tested really.
However, Wlad's conditioning is suspect too. He gassed badly against Brewster, and looked very sluggish in the final few rounds against Ibragimov.

At least 6'6'', I think about 6'7'' actually.
Wlad can go 12 rounds if he decides the pace. Those that say Wlad was drugged in the first Brewster match should probably rewatch the fight and pay close attention to the body attacks. You have to take Wlad out of his comfort zone.

My opinion.

Yeah! I agree. Actually, If you look at the Haye confrontation video, you can see Wlad is uncomfortable.
