That is very kind of you to say that, thank you.
I understand why Ruiz fans are in the minority. Don't get me wrong, I can understand that quite well. But John Ruiz is underrated as a fighter, he knows what he is doing. Yes, he is clinching and holding often (when he is allowed to), this is part of his game plan. He beat some good boxers, even floored Evander Holyfield and is not scared to fight the best. The guy comes to Germany in order to fight a 7' monster and loses by MD only.
To answer your question: boxing matches with John Ruiz might be boring somehow, but his fights are - to me - exciting to watch due to his will, he does everything and anything to win. It basically is a question of taste: while I respect good boxers and appreciate their skills, I prefer big guys trying to take their opponent's head off: knockout artists, brawlers, etc. Ruiz is trying to turn his matches into sort of street brawls, which I enjoy watching.
Hope you get what I am trying to say. If it does not make sense to you, pleae ask again.

It is - to some extent - a little difficult to explain.
