One thing I think Pacquiao doesn't get enough credit for is his overall improvement. People fixate too much on him jumping weight they forget that pacquiao early used to get hit A LOT! Used to always irritate me about him how he'd stick his head out and get hit. Obviously Freddie Roach ironed that out, because Manny now is in and out with outstanding footwork and very unorthodox angular combinations.

What he did to Margarito? A long, rangy fighter with power? I mean he was in, out, diagonal. I remember once I think in the 8th round where Margarito kinda didnt know Pacquiao was for a second and sorta turns around and Pacquiao is like "here I am eat this two to the body and 7 to the head" combo.

Just insane how he uses his small size and puts together effective punches in bunches and lands most of them against even the biggest opponent.

It'll be interesting to see if he decides to retire. I dont know if Moseley is someone he can handle? But why not? Ain't nobody else out there.

There's plenty of people out there at 140 and 147 that I would love to see Manny fight, before a showdown with a seemingly tired Mosley. After he got absolutely wiped out by PBF, then put on the dud a few months back against Sergio Mora, I can't believe that's a fight anybody would be interested in. Rematches against Cotto and Marquez aren't great options either, but I would prefer both to a match with Mosley, until Sugar Shane proves he still has something left in the tank.

Thanks Gygax! Manny is so beautiful to watch! Theres not many fighters you can say that about! Beautiful is not a word that springs to mind! I actually sat down with my uncle yesterday who is 76 and has never seen Manny box! He has only heard newspaper reports etc. We watched a few Manny Fights back to back that i have on my computer. Morales 3, Hatton, Cotto and De la Hoya. It was interesting for me to see his reaction. He just couldnt believe a fighter of this quality existed in the modern age. His exact words were "Christ Alive, he's a right bit a' stuff!!"

Im more convinced than ever that Manny will beat Floyd for 2 reasons. Manny has more combinations than a safe, and they are unorthadox and instinctive, its what makes him so hypnotic to watch. Floyd cannot possibly counter all of them, and counter punching is the only way Floyd can win. Manny loves a dude that rolls his shoulder as defence, he is so accurate, it makes no difference to him!
Also, his footwork is i believe way better than the 2010 version of floyd mayweather. Floyd plants his feet a lot more and doesnt use the ring half as much as what he used to.

Reading today, there seems to be a strong chance there will be a 3rd Marquez fight. Be cool to see it at 140, which is a manageable weight for both. Manny has this ALL DAY for me though!
No word from Floyds camp yet, although he punched a security guard yesterday! Idiot!

Fantastic performance. Its just such a pleasure watching Pac-man fight. Its a pity that hes only getting this massive fame and adulation as his career is winding down.
He is just beautiful to watch, he hand speed with unorthadox combos, and his feet!! You may as well be sat at the ballet!!
If the Floyd fight is not signed within 2 to 3 months then i fear Manny may retire as his focus seems to be shifting towards politics. The only fight really (besides Floyd obviously) which would add to his legacy, would be to meet the winner of the undisputed middle-weight title fight between Sergio Martinez and Paul Williams. That would mean another jump up the weights. After the Margarito fight and seeing how he handled him, i would now pick Manny over Williams.

However, hopefully we get Floyd v Manny at 147 or 140 (as a manny fan, i hope its at 140)
Heres what ive been mulling all of yesterday and today. If and when that fight happens, the result in terms of Mannys legacy is immaterial. In terms of his achievments, the opponents hes faced and WHEN he has faced them (with exception of Oscar) and the way he has carried himself with class as a human being and the fans he has brought to boxing. Mannys career and legacy far surpasses Floyd. In years to come, i believe Manny will be remembered as the greater fighter regardless of if they fight.

Roberto Duran was always my favourite fighter, with Tyson and Roy Jones pushing close. But Manny Pacquiao now is! A genius

What percentage of "big" fights within the past couple of years have gone to decision?

Another thing to think about is that in the past couple years most of the "big fights" have taken place around the 147lb weight class, as opposed to HW where the huge fights used to take place. And last nights maine event was about as close to a stoppage as you can get. Anywhere from the 10th on Manny couldve been awarded the TKO.

A lot of great boxing fights have gone to a decision, specially in the lighter divisions. I dont have a problem with it, not every fight has to end with a KO.

Manny showed once again why HE should be the p4p king and not Floyd who is busy fighting legends at the end of their careers and cokeheads. Margarito is a freaking cheater, who should have been banned and jailed for a decade, but it is what it is. Manny absolutley took him to school and this was an incredibly resilient Margarito, who was close to getting stopped in the 4th, but still head hunting for Manny the entire time.

I thought it was a great fight, nothing else to really say. Although the only downside of this might be, that Margarito probably won back a lot of fans with his performance, which was impressive given that he was getting tagged with a zillion combinations.

As far as Manny next opponents go... Id like to see him fight Williams, but THE fight to make is still between him and Floyd. It would end the debate once and for all and Im pretty sure there is more money in that fight than ever. I dont think Cotto has a different answer for him in a rematch and Mosely would get beaten half to death.

Fight, went pretty much as expected I think, but it was still fun to watch Pac in action (for the first 9 rounds), so I'm glad I caught it.

Before the fight Arum listed 3 possible opponents for Manny should he win (Mosley, Marquez, Cotto), none of which interest me very much, Marquez might be worth a go, but he's getting pretty close to shot, and the fight would have to take place at a max of 140, which I'm not sure Manny would be willing to do. For what its worth, I'd wager quite a bit that his next opponent would be Cotto, since he's the only one of the three under contract to Top Rank, and Bob Arum doesn't seem interested in spreading around his Manny money with other promotions anymore.
Would love to see Manny fight the Williams/Martinez winner, maybe Andre Berto or one of the studs at 140 to come out of the mini tournament (Bradley, Alexander, Maidana, Khan) but I dont think any of those guys bring enough money to the table. Maybe Khan but since they train together thats a major longshot.

Pacquiao on Phillippine channel said he wants to jump to HW next and fight Vitali Klitschko

Pac will look great early on but a lot of this will be down to Margo covering up and pressing. I think Pac will tire in the middle rounds due to his lack of cimmitment in training camp and Margo will start to hurt him to the body. His body looks weak at the weigh-in to me. He will get overwhelmed and stopped in the 10th. mark my words.

John, when it comes to predicting Mannys fights... join Kermit on the Wall of Shame. :p

Pacs gonna get stopped in round ten.

1. It may have been pre-fight hype but I dont think so, Pacman is distracted and well of the pace.

2. His sparring partners have been besting him according to reports and what Ive seen on the 24/7 programs.

3. He looked out of shape at the weigh-in. Like he'd just drank a litre of water and ate a meal to put on some weight for the scales... not adhering to his conditiong program to bulk up enough?

4. As soon as you think someones un-beatable they get beat.

5. Maragrito was a complete mess coming into the Mosley fight, he had just been caught with the infamous wraps and apparently had to drop nearly 60 lbs over his training camp. He was miles out the week of the fight and had no chance as soon as he walked into the ring because of the damage his weight loss and cut had done to him.

6. Manny's "pop" has only carried through the divisions due to his speed, let me explain: the guys he KO'd never seen it coming. Where as the guys that covered up instead of trying to beat him to the punch were never overwhelmed with power.

7. On fight night there may be as much as 14 lbs in weight difference.

8. I've NEVER seen Margo look so ripped for a fight, he is in incredible physical shape.

...and hey there BB, nice to see you back :)

Too bad he has givin this @#$@#$#@$ a payday, anything other than a early Pac KO is a loss for boxing IMO.

Yeah, it is good seeing Boxer again. And I agree with all of you. Anytime Pac-Man fights, it's a "THING TO SEE", so here's to hoping for a good one.

Manny by a late stoppage. Margarito likes to brawl and if you take it to Manny, he will bring the pain.

Also, good seeing you again Boxerboy, where ya been?

I don't follow boxing that much but I do enjoy it. Since I don't follow it much I have asked a couple people that I know that are boxing fans and they seem to agree with the majority of the people here that this is not much of a challenge to Manny. I will say that watching Pac fight thouogh is always fun to watch IMO, with that said I still won't get the PPV, but that is for more personal reasons.
