he gives a pretty good interview and seems pretty humble about his upcoming MMA career. Hey, if Bas likes him then I'm rutten for him (horrible pun, I'm sorry).

Wow, he seems like a cool dude.
"Matt Hughes is not done in this game, ladies and gentlemen. Make no mistake about it."
Can't wait to watch his first fight, I have a feeling he's gonna go undefeated for a long time.

YOU wa SHOCK!
Yeah, I totally admit that I understimated this dude completely.
It was easy to write'em off as some internet/youtube street fighting thug and when his name started to get tossed around in serious MMA circles, I figured it was mainly freakshow appeal.....But it's good to see him training so seriously & having such a good attitude about it. He's not resting on his internet image of pure street brawler to get by.
That said, he is in his early/mid 30's and has only been seriously training for about 18mo or so....so we'll see how far he can actually go in the sport.
Bas has said though, that the dude has such good fighting instincts and has been so eager to learn, that he has progressed a great deal in that time. Gonna be cool to watch'em tonight.
I was surprised to hear him talk. I sort of expected him to be a thugged out idiot ala Charles "crazy horse" Bennet, or be as smart as a brick like Diego Sanchez. He actually seems like a smart, likable guy.
It's sort of a shame they couldn't find him a better opponent for his debut. I seem to recall Paul Buentello calling him out not that long ago, I'd sort of like to see that match.

I was cheering for Kimbo but.......that was a little suspicious.....
man that guy tapped way to fast I smell a rat.......it would not be the first time.....
this card was just unlucky man to many cuts unlucky.....awesome elbow though....nice to see diaz has grown up and takes losing better....this guy has issues ........could not happen to a nicer guy...bye bye.....oh yeah pushing the camera crew is a great way to end up in another main event....grow up you street thug.....its called PROFESSIONAL fghting for a reason act like a pro or get treated just like any other thug....
I'm a fan of Kimbo and agree with Stephan Quadros. The more fights he has, the more he'll fine tune other aspects of his fight game because he's gonna need it. Bas is doing a fine job with training pretty much a no skilled street fighter.
If Bas can get Kimbo to learn even basic ground fighting? Watch out. This fool is gonna hurt some dudes in the HW divsion of MMA
"I don't fight @ 170 anymore because I was Emanciated all the time" - Jayson "Mayhem Miller" (On why he won't drop to 170 to fight Nick Diaz)
Cantrell did not come out to fight. He wanted the money and not getting hurt in the process. That's what he did. So, this fight, as Bas said, is no indication of where Kimbo is in the sport.
Yes, he is big and he hits hard, but so do many others. A fight against Buentello would tell us where Kimbo really is.
