On a related note (I figure this will be the entire show discussion), Goldberg and Mauro were incredibly horrible tonight. These 2 on CBS is going to be a mockery of the sport. I dont mind Mauro with Bas but man Goldberg shouldnt be allowed anywhere near a microphone ever.

PS Kimbo's shirt was awesome

Yeah, I didn't think you'd add the Fightreport.net part if you made 'em...but hey nobody else posted it. That was a good sweep.

Yeah Goldberg's gotta go.

Who's the tool who said, "Music has Madonna, Golf has Tiger, MMA has Kimbo"? That was real lame...on so many levels.

a) Great fight

b) GREAT fight.

c) The re-match is going to see a lot more time on the ground. Le only used one San Shou sweep, and Shamrock only tried maybe three body locks.

d) I think Cung Le would have a chance against Anderson Silva. But of course, I picked Cung Le to win this fight. I think it would be really interesting to see Cung Le fight somebody who could strike with him.

I really think Robbie Lawler knocks out Le within the first 2 rounds but thats just me. Shamrock was MEASURING him on the fence at the end of R3 and I think if Robbie had that same situation Cung would be waking up right now.

That said Le could always land a strike from ANYWHERE, and Robbie is kind of chinny, so who knows.

I really wanna see that fight thinking about it.

What else can be said that hasn't already been mentioned!? The fight was prob. one of thee best I've seen in a long time. I also gotta hand it to Shamrock though, for actually standing in there with Cung as long as he did which by the way was borderline insane! I thought he was just trying to create some hype and as soon as the match started; shoot in for the take down much like Wayne did in his fight. Instead, he decided to give us one hell of a show and trade punches with Le and even had him rocked in the 3rd round! I'd love to see a rematch, where Shamrock isn't so crazy and tries to take Cung down to the mat where he has yet to be tested!

I agree with everyone else. One helluva fight.

Cung Le's fights are extremely entertaining.

Great fight to a fun show. I love the San Jose shows as they seem to have a ton of great vibes whenever Shammy starts juicing up a fight. Le is a top 50 middleweight at best but man that was a fun fight.
That is what everyone says, but I think Cung would force Anderson to try for takedowns. Cung has way more history of kickboxing/Muay Thai than Silva.

I lost basically all my points on this show lol, but yeah this fight was simply awesome and Shamrock's gotta be the most entertaining fighter in the world he went down and smiled, said "come on down to my world", Le was smart and fought his fight but Shamrock should have worked harder to get the fight onto the ground he looked out of his game for the majority of the fight in the stand-up but hey he did rock Le a couple of times.

No muay thai at all. San Shou/Sanda.

That's crazy talk, TICL.

Cung is ripe for Anderson's pickin'.

It looked like that high kick that connected probably broke Franks arm. He was shaking it like it was hurting just after the contact and he didnt answer the bell after that round. It might have already been released or what not as to why he didnt answer but I havent seen anything yet....damn slow getting any real world info over here.

Defintely a good fight but people are getting way ahead of themselves. In no way is Le ready to challenge anyone near the top 5 in the MW division. This fight proved nothing more than Frank Shamrock being completely full of ****. Le was impressive with his display of kickboxing and it was one of the more entertaining fights of the year, but again, Shamrock is not a top tier opponent and anyone with half way decent takedown skills would put Le completely out of his element.

Hats off to Strikeforce for putting on another entertaining card. Can't wait to see what they have in store next time.

This fight was great, but I wanted to see if Le had some ground skills but I think Frank wanted to prove he can stand with him......

I agree that Cung's not ready for Silva yet. However, I'd love to see him in the UFC. I wonder what Dana's response would be to his effort tonight? Modest praise in an attempt to lure him to the UFC in the future or complete dismissal because he's not a UFC fighter? Unfortunately, I think it would be the latter. You damn bastage, Dana.

Krav, you still calling conspiracy?

So if Cung Le is no where near ready for A.Silva, what does that say about EliteXC vs. ufc? i'm not sure why CBS is bringing EliteXc on network tv when there is a clearly superior product available elsewhere. Will the cash injection help EliteXC attract better fighters or will this be a short lived experiment?
