She is more than likely using the fighting skill as a segway to modeling and acting as opposed to the other way around.
Good call SmashingMachine, Cyborg is ready to roll right now so Gina needs to focus. On the other hand arelius makes a good point about mma spring boarding her into a modeling/acting career. So in the end she needs to make a decision, modeling or mma because both would be a very crazy schedule.

Gina definately has the look to attract people to womens mma, gorgeous and she has the skills but she has to keep her eye on the prize and not get distracted by the media attention. She has been doing well so far (although AG might be a problem) and she needs people around her to keep her pointed in the right direction.
Cyborg is a monster and i cannot wait until her and Gina are standing opposite eachother in the ring, but until then i will enjoy the Gina pics!
