Kimbo is way overpaid. He goes in there for 14 seconds, looses and his salary is still more then everyone else's combined (not including Arlovski).
ELITEXC FIGHTER SALARIES: THE $500,000 KIMBO KO
Monday, October 06, 2008 - by MMAWeekly.com Staff
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MMAWeekly.com has obtained the fighter salary information from the Florida State Boxing Commission for EliteXC “Heat” featuring Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson vs. Seth Petruzelli, which took place on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Fla.
The following figures are based on the fighter salary information that promoters are required by law to submit to the state athletic commissions, including the winners' bonuses.
Although mixed martial arts fighters do not have collective bargaining or a union, the fighters' salaries are still public record, just as with every other major sport in the United States. Any undisclosed bonuses that a promoter also pays its fighters, but does not disclose to the athletic commissions (specifically, pay-per-view bonuses, fight of the night bonuses, etc.), are not included in the figures below.
In the listings below, "Main Event Fighters" are defined as fighters who compete in the main event of a show. "Main Card Fighters" are defined as fighters whose fights appear on the main card, but not in the main event. "Preliminary Card Fighters" are defined as fighters whose matches take place before the live broadcast goes on the air, regardless of whether or not those matches end up airing on the TV or Internet broadcast.
MAIN EVENT FIGHTERS
– Seth Petruzelli ($50,000/win bonus was $15,000) def. Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson ($500,000/win bonus would have been $100,000)

Half a million?, I'm gaining more respect for Kimbo by the second.

Yea, anyone that can bull**** their way into $500,000 has some secrets that I want to learn.
Double AA and Kimbo did pretty well. Combined they are over a million of that pay-out total. Kimbo has a good agent and manager to be squeezing out that kind of cutter from EliteXC. I would not mind being KO'd for half a million dollars, LOL.

Yea Kimbo needs to hook a brother up with his manager
Hi friendz!
and we wonder why Elite XC is fixing to tank, when 2 fighters make more in salry than their entire gate. That is why they are $55 million in debt and climbing.
That does seem to be the case. I thought that EliteXC on CBS did a really good job of presentation and production values. That is very important for a sporting event broadcast as a TV program. Those two aspects help bring in viewers and advertising money. But, they need to stop thinking like Affliction with huge pay-outs to fighters. At least, at this point, when they need to build their brand and name recognition

Nice to see Arvloski getting PAID.![]()
Too big of a payroll for EliteXC to make money though.
It's kinda sad to see guys like Kimbo or Lesnar make huge $$$, when true MMA talent is getting so much less. It's all about marketing and fan appeal.

UFC's I've been to: 69,79,87,101
That was the reported figure for Kimbo. EliteXC was required to report those figures basically before the event. I have heard from several sources and outlets that Kimbo's management, mainly Icey Mike, negotiated a very significant increase in that number when Shamrock was eliminated and they were looking to replace him with Petruzelli.
How about Curry? If he lost, he would have gotten $750 for his effort.
Found this over at BloodyElbow
If these numbers are accurate, then the reports that we were hearing on fight night - that EXC had to sweeten the pot considerably to get Kimbo to take the bout - would appear to be true. In his last two fights for the promotion, Ferguson earned $175,000 (vs. Tank Abbott) and $250,000 (vs. James Thompson) in disclosed salary.

Gina is getting peanuts.
- Slice = $500,000
- Arlovski = $500,000
- Carano = $25,000WTF!

I thought Affliction was still paying Arlovski since it was a co-promotion since they were using their fighter? Maybe not though.
Top 10: Miguel Torres, Nick and Nate Diaz, Demian Maia, Cain Velasquez, Jeremy Horn, Dan Henderson, Jon Fitch, Kenny Florian, Trevor Prangley
