Thread: Does Elitexc rests on Ginas shoulders now?

I don't think Gina can carry the promotion on her own. Women's MMA is still so new and all it will take is for Gina to get KTFO just once to give those who oppose it ammunition. Just like when Randy's wife got all messed up, alot of people had issue with it and used her as thier example. If she does become their Main Event fighter more power to her and hopefully a fat pay increase as well.

People will tune in to see how he does in his next fight after coming of the loss. Maybe even more than when he was un-defeated.

I think this is true if they put in a worthy opponent if not and its another can then I think even the casual fans will now catch on to the gimick.

I thought she pretty much already did carry EliteXC.

Too bad because a year or so ago I thought they were going to do big things in that Org.

I think that EliteXC would do better if they steered away from trying to get big names. I mean, it's good to have the big names, but I think that they should try to cultivate new talent and bring along new MMA fighters. An MMA promotion can still succeed with no-name fighters from nowhere. As long as they put on a good fight, people will watch.

Gina "Conviction" Carano may be the "Face of Women's MMA" but she cannot prop up an entire promotion. I think that any promotion that puts everything into one guy (Affliction/Fedor) or girl will have a bad wake up call eventually. MMA PPV events are not just two guys and one match. It takes a lot of talent to put on a good show.
