There would have been nothing wrong with that if it was in PRIDE. If that fight happens again i say 1st round KO for Silva.

I've seen this video several times and every time I see it I always say to myself...Why does Silva try to go after Okami after he knew he lost?

Silva KO round 1 if they meet again...

Silva was 2-3 record in Pride and now all of a sudden he is seen as unbeatable, Amazing striker and always relaxed but he won't hold the belt long in the UFC , you will see. Okami vs Swick should be a nice tilt .

It wasnt a cheap shot. Anderson has fought in loads of promotions all over the world under many different sets of rules. I can imagine its easy in the middle of a fight to forget which strikes are legal and illegal if you're constantly fighting under different rules. A shot like that in Pride or Cage Rage would have been completely legal and would have been on a highlight reel.

He was actually 3-2 in Pride, not 2-3.

I would agree with what your saying if he would of acted differently when he was being pulled off.. The fact that he tries to fight through the ref tells me it was a bit more than a honest mistake..

I was going to leave this one alone. I don't like Silva on a "personal" level, I don't think he has much regard for the safety of his opponents and apparently not much regard for the rules either.

but droplogic, he was in the heat of battle

So friggin' what, plenty of other guys in the heat of battle too and they don't act like they're fighting outside of a club. When the ref is standing between you and your opponent and physically holding you away from them and you don't relent, well, to me you're either out of control or a complete idiot.

but english isn't his first language

This is MMA, there isn't a single language in the world that isn't in the ring right now and nobody else seems to have a problem deciphering the refs very simple commands.

but he fights all over the world in different leagues he could have forgotten which organization was signing his paycheques.

    ........duh

All that aside, I think he's got explosive speed, power and great technique.

    Meh.

I'd like to see Okami get another shot at him, just to see the fight I was supposed to see before Silva went berserk and ruined it.
