Default Couture Diet

What exactly is his diet because with H.S. wrestling just around 4 months away and some open tournaments comming up in October I need to lose a tad bit of weight and be extremely healthy because I dont even eat healthy when i am not losing weight and it shows in my performance so when i lose weight its even worse. What does he do exactly? he seams to be one of the healthiest athletes I have ever seen.

I'm not sure on his exact diet, but I know i've heard him say that he has pretty much cut dairy products out of his diet and he eats a lot of leafy greens.

He and most of the top guys who came out of Team Quest base their diet around the principle of acid & alkaline. Stuff like sugar and dairy raises the acid level in your muscles and causes more soreness and inhibits training, generally making you feel more sluggish. Couture eats a lot of vegetables (with a little hummus for flavour), particularly the leafy green stuff like spinach and kale, which raises your alkaline level and counters the acid. throughout the day he snacks on raisins and walnuts for clean energy. I can't remember what he says about protein, but I imagine he keeps red meat to a minimum and gets most of it from chicken and fish.

Id imagine Couture would be very supplement heavy for his protein and recovery needs as well, but the cutting out all dairy is true as I remember reading him say it helps him with his longevity in the sport.

The stuff he uses and the amount (jesus...) is here on a table

The body alkalinity stuff is really interesting. Goes back to the kombucha tea I had mentioned in a previous thread. A lot of it is counterintuitive. While the actual pH of what you eat may sit on one side, once it begins being broken down it can change completely. It will help with lactic acid buildup, so you won't fatigue as easily in a long match.

Red meats become very acidic, as do dairy. Kombucha has a pH of like three or something, very acidic. Digests into an alkaline compound.

all three of those diegest that way? If so that is very interesting

Well then what do you think is the best way to have a healthy athletic diet that helps me build muscle and lose fat. Also I will be cutting weight starting next month.

With all those in mind what should i eat. Keep in mind that 6 meals a day stuff i cant do with school.

this is for anyone to answer not just "It could be worse"
