Default Stability Ball Pushups

Here is one of my favorite exercises!! The stability ball pushup! When i first started doing these i would struggle doing ten but in a short time you build up the muscles that stabilize the shoulders and core and you'll find yourself doing alot more. Great exercise!! the embed feature has been disabled so here is the link.

I try to incorporate some form of these into my chest workouts. Whether it be on a stability ball, a BOSU or stability discs. They offer a really nice change and they compliment traditional exercises such as bench press and dips well.

My workouts usually don't include many heavy traditional exercises so i use this as part of a 5 exercise protocol that uses a stability ball. Good workout as part of a warm-up or cool down. Its SB pushups, SB hypers, SB reverse hypers, SB knee tuck and finally the SB Skier(another one of my favorites). Its done as a circuit, 10-15 reps per exercise, 3-4 sets in a workout. A good workout that hits the core with very minimal equipment.

Exercises like this are great for fighters.
I have nothing against free weights and bench and heavy squats. A friend of mine is a international power lifter and the strength he can generate is scary, I have full respect. I also have respect for Bodybuilders takes a lot of effort and discipline.
But when doing the above stuff you gain muscle mass and when weight and speed is an issue muscle mass becomes one too.
Doing stability ball push ups and leg routines like crashti posted and body weight exercises are king IMO when it comes to conditioning for a fighter.
