Mexico and supplements?
I was wondering if anyone has been to Mexico and seen any stores that you can buy supplements at? I am going on my honeymoon in a week and will be gone for over two weeks and I don't want to lose the gains I have been working on the last while. I made sure the resort we will be at has a good gym but I can't take my supplements on the plane with me. So I was wondering if anyone knows if I could find them there. I am willing to go on a small road trip if needed.

No, that will be a little bit far for a road trip I thought about that already. I will be about 45 minutes south of Cancun, at Playa del Carmen. So going to the states would be a little too far I think.

Ah, you can find something like a GNC in Cancun. Be wary about buying supplements from random drugstores unless you are in the market for that kind of stuff

Whoa, Whoa, you guys are getting a little carried away. I am just looking for legal supplements. I don't need any Nike clothing or anything.

Don't do it, the cops are the pimps around those parts. Also isn't mexico famous for making counterfit products?

Really, you can get supplements at walmart? I don't think you can here. I have never checked though. I always go to GNC.

Yeah, actually the 'Body Fortress' brand that walmart carries is manufactured by Vitamin World (chain) and walmart just rebrands it. They have protien, arginine, aminos, basic stuff like that so far.

You guys made me almost choke on my Wheat Thins when I was reading this! As I'm sure you know rsylver, just don't drink the water. Montezuma's revenge is a killer. I lost about 15 pounds last time I went to Mexico.

There's a Walmart and Sam's Club in Cancun if your a member. It's worth the trip from Playa. The Walmart has like 30 10 year old kids bagging groceries at every check out!

What about brushing teeth? Should I just use bottled water for everything?

Most of the better hotels and resorts there (Mexico in general) have some sort of water purification. I've been to several places in Mexico and never had a problem with using the tap to rinse after brushing my teeth. Another thing though is the ice! Everyone always forgets about ice, but again better hotels and restaurants will have some sort of purification process (usually they put signs up or it says on the menu). And one more thing, local beers (if you drink beer) may not be pastuerized the way they are in the states or Canada. I know for a fact in the Domican Republic the local El Presidente will give you the squirts! While the El Presidente you can find in the states is fine. Have fun down there, and do the tours, most are well worth it. Chicha Nitza is worth the ride via bus and Xa Ha (sp) the snorkel tour (I think).
