I've been using the GNC UltraMega without Iron. Seem to be doing ok for me. Always willing to try something else if anyone has any other suggestions.

I take the following each day:
1 Gram L-Arginine
25mg DHEA
B-Complex 50
general amino acids
Ok, so DHEA is a supplement.. but everything else is a vitamin!

Men, make sure you are'nt taking any extra iron. It leads to probs down the road (prostate cancer, colon cancer etc). Giving blood once per year greatly reduces your risk for these types of cancers.

Yeah Iron is bad. I was told that it was especially bad if you workout but didn't ever get a reasoning behind that. Regardless no iron for me.

Your body store iron, so unless you bleed regularly, you never really reduce your iron levels. That’s why women usually have low iron, they tend to bleed more than men. So, giving blood once per year is usually enough to keep iron levels under control. Also, the problem with multi-vitamins is that you pass most of them without absorbing them. Zinc and calcium usually don't get absorbed due to other minerals blocking their absorption.

Men's Health has a lot of good info on their website about vitamins. They recommend Centrum Silver for all men...even though it's designed for older adults...it has the best nutritional value for the buck out there. Too, if you put your vitamin in a glass of vinegar and it's not breaking down very well after a half hour...you don't want it. Also, your body can only use so much at one time...so you may need to split your dosages up during the day.

here is a gross little fact about Centrum Vitamins. i knew a girl who worked at a nursing home and alot of residents took Centrum, well they also would poo out the entire tablet. now this could be due to compromised digestion in an elderly person or its also possible that the Centrum pill is indigestable for some people. take it how you will. however i don't take any vitamin pills. there is enough Vitamins in my Whey Protein Powder and my Superfood that i don't need extra vitamins via pill.

Yeah, I do not know how well they digest, but if you take the vitamin and put it in a glass of vinegar and it hasn't started dissolving in 20-30 minutes that's a pretty good indicator of how well it's going to digest.

Men's Health. One of their publications or their website...but it was something they put out. They have a lot of good dietary advice on their website.

I've been told that if your vitamin changes the colour of your urine, then it's actually doing something. I take a big fat multi every day, but I forget who makes it. I also take 3 omega fatty acid capsules (containing omega 3, 6, and 9), and I mix my protein powder with Vege-greens, by Progressive, which contains something like 60 different fruits, vegetables, grasses, seaweeds, etc, and one scoop gives me the equivalent of five of the required daily servings of fruits and vegetables. I still try and eat plenty anyway, but it's like my insurance that I'm getting what I need.

The neon pee is an excess of the vitamin B riboflavin. Question was asked in new (3/2006) issue of Men's Health pg 36.

If your vitamin changes the color of your urine, that just means you can see the extra vitamins and minerals coming out and going down the drain.

I'm pretty sure it's more that your body has processed those vitamins and minerals and you're seeing the remnants getting flushed out. If you don't see anything, it means the vitamin is just sitting in your stomach, not getting digested.

Umm..My doctor said the same thing about the excess of the vitamin, the Men's Health response is 100% factual, I said it cause I couldn't remember exactly what my doctor had said.

You see it in your urine because it's in excess of what your body can use, so it's getting rid of the extra. If you body used all of it you wouldn't see anything. If it just sits in your stomach and can't desolve there, it will come out wrapped really nice in a turd LOL!
