Default Eye surgery

I'm not sure if this is the right forum so sorry in advance if not. I'm wanting to know if any of you have your self or known someone who had lasik eye surgery and still fight. I'm considering getting it done but the DR says he would not recommend contact sports after having it done. But of course he is going to say that. So I'm just curious if anyone has any experience with it.

i am not sure how LASIK eye surgery would interfer with the combat sports. all it is is laser surgery that tightens up somepart of the eye. i am no doctor so my opinion is'nt worth much. alot of fighters do fight with contact lenses in however.

I had LASIK. You need to watch yourself very closely for say the first six months or so to heal. You should rub your eyes or anything like that. With LASIK, they actually do make an incision, lift the flap, then laser the eye and place the flap back down. The whole thing takes about 1 minute per eye. Anyway, anything could cause the flap to come "loose" before it completely heals and you could be in for some trouble.

its mainly not about the flap thing cuz it heals back in its position also the cut is very smooth done by very sharp knife called microkeratome (if you are interested) then (and thats the point) part of the stroma witch is the midsectoin of the cornia is removed by eximer laser so that the curvature of the cornea is readjusted to focus the light rays on the retina
so after lasic the cornea becomes thinner in some parts wich make it more liable to perforation .. see .. contact lenses are better for someone who gets hit alot:sport-smi
