Default i need a diet

hi guys, im getting more and more into my training in JJ and muay thai but i think its about time i need a proper diet, i have the diet of an obese man right now and its not good for me, im 170lbs and 6ft tall so no real weight issues, i have found however that although i ear rubbish all day im fairly fit, however i cant get round that if i ate properly id be far better and would put on more muscle.

the thing then that i need is a good daily diet which i will stick to if i can get the foods here, iv looked at some fighters diets but im unsure if they are for me, what do you guys eat on a daily basis?

if possible i would want a full day/ full weekly diet.

any help is greatly appreciated before i get fat

at feet tall and 170lbs. i don't think getting fat is anything you need to worry about. However a poor diet does nothing to help athletic performance. you can be thin and still be out of shape. i would'nt recommend a diet for you, i would simply say cut out all the junk you eat and start eating more whole foods, such as fruits, vegetables and lean sources of protein. although don't get too carried away when watching grams of fat. the body does need fat to function at its best. just make sure the fats are not of the saturated variety. create list of all the foods you enjoy or are accesible to you and seperate them out by group. from there you can create meals and snacks that appeal to you. doing things this way offers endless variety and allows you to customize to suit your personal tastes.

You pretty much have to find out what works for you. A good base though is to multiply your bodyweight by 12, start with this as your daily calorie base. Avoid junk, sugar, soda or any other empty calories. Eat real food, whole food, not canned and processed crap. The exception is Tuna IMO. Eat plenty of fresh veggies, or at least frozen and not canned. The easiest way I've found is to plan you meals a day in advance and stick to the plan. I'll fire up the grill and the oven, cook a weeks worth of meat and freeze it in single portions. That way it only takes a few seconds to warm it up when I'm ready to eat. Having to prepare a meal when your hungry is the best way to give in to something easy instead of what you had planned.

i tend to not eat anything cooked. i like to just be able to eat without preparation. i eat alot of raw fruits, vegetables and nuts. i also find tuna to be the easiest source of protein besides a shake or cooking something.

by eliminating the chips and soda from your diet will make you feel better all by itself. i personally keep a huge bag of carrots on hand that i snack on. nuts are also easy. recently i discovered pitted dates, very tasty. eventually if you can stay away from the junk food you will no longer crave it. and even if you do go back and have some you will notice that all that extra sugar and fat tastes HORRIBLE.

i actually read a report that states the men in the UK are supposedly healthier than men in the USA. so at least statistically your one step up on me.

All I ever drink is water, unless my family goes out to fast food I try to not drink pop. Water all day and I love it, helps my body and makes me feel alot better for it to.

i believe in Japan they sweeten all sodas with Stevia, which is a no calorie, all natural sweetener. you get all the sweetness minus the negative side effects of all the sugar. unfortunately its not approved in the US to be marketed as food. its only available as a food supplement. why? because American companies did'nt want to pay for the neccesary studies to give it approval by the Food and Drug Administration. basically the companies could'nt profit from the results. they could'nt gain so we all lose....and get fat and watch our health deteriorate.

Buger King, Taco Bell, Wendy's, McDonalds...you can't go wrong...LOL...just kidding. Eat high protein, low fat, low carbs, no starchy carbs, drink lots of water, get some creatine, and L-Glutamine. Allow yourself one bad meal a week as a reward.

that one day a week splurge thing bothers me. i try doing it but i think its worse to eat a box of donuts in one day as opposed to eating one a day. i always crave sweets but i have found that Organic dark chocolate with at least a 70% cocoa content really solves that for me. plus Cocoa is a powerful antioxident. not really win/win but not so bad as eating a Supersized Big Mac meal.
