Default Beginner Training and Diet

I'm 24, 6'0", and average 175lbs. I've always been a natural fighter--runs in the family. But now I'm getting older and realizing that I need to get into a regular training plan and diet to keep healthy. What I'm looking for is a beginners plan/guide for weightlifting, exercising, and eating right to either set me on a basic routine, or at least give me advice on building my own. I'm also looking for some tips on improving my reaction time and thinking process.

Thanks guys.

i would suggest spending some time looking over alot of the current threads. they will contain the information you're looking for. the members here have spend considerable time posting excellent information. if searching around older threads is'nt helpful enough feel free to post back with specific questions.

I would highly recommend that you check out www.labrada.com. There is tons of free information there and in particular the 'lean body challenge' packet is an excellent start for a beginner, or really anyone, who is looking to get on a realistic diet/exercise program that you can do for the rest of your life.

MMA weight lifting? Work your back, shoulders, legs, and core. I usually do 1 set of 15, 1 set of 5 (Heavy weight to gain strength), and another set of 15. This helps build endurance and strength. Also, the break between sets should only be about 45-60 seconds.
