Default Trying To Get Back Into Shape

Hey yall

Im not wanting to fight or anything, but Im wanting to get back to what I weighed when I was in high school which was about 160 or 170. Im at 215 right now.

I bike ride when I can and am very carefull about what I eat. Try to lay off the sodas and energy drinks. But my work schedule makes it very different to have a serious work out routine. Anyone know an easy fix? Im not talking anything illegal or nuttin. Just something to help me out.

well theres no easy fix to lose 50 pounds... how old are you? start by cutting your daily calories down by 500 to 1000 each day... how much are you on the bike?? if you can start at 15 min 4x a week and work your way up to 30 to 40 min at higher intensity 5x a week youll get there fairly fast... theres tons of different info on these boards, thats just a very broad outline... cut your saturated fats... if your diet is good youll def get alot better fast...

This section is packed with good information on losing weight and getting back in shape.

In a nutshell, it's 70% diet and 30% exercise. I work out regularly and strenuously, and if I eat whatever I want I don't lose a pound. But as soon as I follow a strict diet, the fat melts off me.

If you're really serious about losing weight, you have to get tough with yourself, work hard, and cut out stuff that you might love.

Starch and sugar are your biggest enemies. If you can cut out bread, potatoes, white rice, pasta, and sugar, you'll be amazed how quickly you lose weight. People see them as important sources of carbs, but you need to make the distinction between carbs and starch. Fruits and vegetables are good carbs, and you can eat as much of them as you want. I personally don't count calories, because I burn a lot by working out (probably 1200 every time I go to the gym).

There's food that provides your body with vitamins, minerals, fiber and protein, and then there's everything else. Stay away from the everything else.
