Default Grappling Etiquette

I don't mean this to be silly, but it's sorta funny and serious. Because it's getting pretty bad in our gym.

What is the etiquette when someone blows ass (fart) while grappling? The instructor yesterday was doing basic reversal and escape drills and guard passes with us before our rolling session and he started blowing ass. Then everyone else started blowing ass over and over as if we were all holding it.

Nobody said anything, but we've all known each other going on 6 years and have a good team mentality. So finally the instructor said. Ok, New rules. Before everyone comes to grappling, sit on the toilet for a half hour and let everything go so we're all not constantly interrupted with this in class.

So what is the appropriate response to your partner blowing ass? I mean seriously. It can get kinda nasty especially if you're stuck in his triangle or north south if hes gotta float an air biscuit!

i get you man, funny that someone farted today in the dojo next to me and it was stinking out the whole place, when your in a grading with guys you dont know and someone lets one go its not the best thing.

one guy i trained with was going sit ups and let 2 go when he lifted his legs up at the crunches. he also tried 2 back breakfalls and smashed his head off the mat the same trainign session.... yes he had a bad day

If they fart at you the only proper thing is to fart back. Just don't back down.

sometimes they just come out, especially during strenuous exercise or an activity like grappling. i would tell people that if they feel a big fart lurking to just excuse themselves from class for two seconds and take care of it either outside or at the very least away from the mats. you see this in the weight room as well. i guy is straining to perform a bench press or squat and PFOOOOTTTTT!!!

I just pissed all over myself reading this. I recently landed an triangle choke. I was on my back . I squeezed really hard and I blew an ass grenade.. My memory was he tapped really quick. I appolgised while laughing my butt off. It just happen. Not premeditated. I clamped down and kaboom. WD I did say Im sorry.
