Default Health insurance

How is everyone's health insurance here? Mine sucks. I have a torn meniscus in my right knee. My knee locked up and it is extremely painful especially since it won't unlock. My doc told me that I need arthoscopic knee surgery. However, I have a $1000 deductible and my insurance covers nothing till I reach it.

I just paid $100 for xrays. I have to get an MRI done and it will run around $580. The worse part my deductible resets at the new year and there is no guarantee that I could get the surgery done before then. If the surgery is done next Jan. I will have to pony up $1000 instead of the $320 I would have paid this year to meet the deductible. I also have to pay 20% after that. I think I may just wait till the new year to even get the MRI. Hopefully my knee will unlock, so it won't be so painful.

Likewise. One of the things I'm most proud of in Canada is our health care system. Any injuries or operations I've ever had have been covered by it.

I just landed a new job with a pharmaceutical company so mine isn't too bad. But since I don't do any type of training or anything like that I just need it for when I have the sniffles.

mine is surprisingly good for working in an unskilled profession. i have my Union to thank for that, health insurance is part of our bargaining agreement and the company can't take anything away from us that is in the contract. of course the contract is up for renewal in Febuary and things could change.

Mine's pretty good. If I ever have to have a referral to a specialist, I haven't had any bitching about it from my carrier. They were really good too with my wife when she had a major surgery twice and once after a miscarriage, we had little to no out of pocket. But then again I'm a public employee and they generally have good insurance. Albeit I haven't had your experience. Good luck and take care of yourself bro.

I am not poor, nor rich enough for health insurance.

I could never understand why americans don't implement a health care system like Canada has. You pay more in taxes but it's worth it if you need to go in for surgery or even just to visit your doctor. I really feel sorry for people that are scared to get sick just because they can't afford it. I like that if something major happens to me or my family, the last thing on our minds is money.
