Default Need to be ring fit in 4 weeks! Any tips

I have taken a fight on short notice, because my friend is organising the card and doing it as a favour. Got 4 weeks to prepare. My last fight was the end of October. Since then, between work, college and christmas, my trips to the gym have been scarce! (I'm from the Ricky Hatton school of training!!!) Usually I like 8-10 weeks ideally! But
But Just wondering if any members have any training-plans that seem to work for them in such a situation. My trainer will have me do it his way i imagine, but it's always good to have options!!!
Cheers Boys!!

All I have to say is cardio, cardio, cardio, and wish for luck. It will be very hard to go from nowhere to ring ready, but your layoff hasent been that long compared to some I have seen. Firstly, listen to your trainer.. dont push yourself too hard at the very first, nothing worse than an injury right before the big night.

I'm getting increasingly suspicious about these new guys who claim they're already trained and have either had fights or have their first one coming up, and yet they have no idea how to get in shape.

I swear, at the fight gyms in town that I've trained at, there isn't one single guy who's at the point of competition who would be saying, "Can anyone tell me what exercises I should be doing to get in shape for a fight?"

Hey Man, Easy Tiger!
I didn't write that in a desperate "Help me here" type of way! I know what I have to do, as do my trainers and nutritionists. I was just wondering if any other members had methods that they find useful. Like I said, options, keeping yourself open to new stuff never hurt any body (Something I bet tito never said to Jenna!!) That what as I understand this section of the forum is to be used for, sharing information!

Crossfit is a great way to take your conditioning to the next level, particularly if you're already in good shape and looking for a change. There are a number of top-level fighters who employ these methods:

Welcome to CrossFit: Forging Elite Fitness

On the left hand menu, start with "What is Crossfit?" and then go to "Start Here".

I agree to a certain point, but it's always nice to learn new things.

Im no expert but If I took a fight on short notice and DIDN'T have the help of a trainer / nutritionists I would lift moderately not Heavy and CARDIO.... Figureing your not going to improve to much in a short time get your cardio peaked the best you can. IMO WarDawg

Absolutely. Fighting shape is something that has to be maintained. The most you could hope for is that you blast cardio up and hope you dont blow too much O2 in the ring.

you're gonna have to spar hard too to get ready. but...It can be done. Rampage Jackson trained 2 weeks before his first MMA fight vs Eastman, and lost a close decision. But he looked good.

Ahh, the voice of reality raises its head. I love it.

Our gym is the gym you go to before places like AKA or Cung Le or even Frank's school will even talk to you in the San Jose area. We get this kinda stuff all the time. "I'm tough." Or "I'm in shape" then you run these "fighters" through a simple mitt drill and they die.

if you only have 4 weeks to train you're going to have to look to end the fight as quickly as possible. so in your case its less of an issue of what training to do but instead, what is my gameplan. if you're a striker you are going to have to keep the fight standing, sounds like a no brainer but if you get taken down it probable that you're going to gas out just trying to survive long enough to get the fight back standing, at which point you probably won't have enough gas left to finish the fight. work on takedown defense on cardio, i would suggest a something along the lines of Crossfit as well. something that builds strength while taxing your cardio at the same time. Go for a first round KO or stoppage.
