When I was young and lanky and totally out of shape, I had a cousin that was obsessed with weight training. It got really tiresome, because every time I'd see him it'd take about 2 minutes before the conversation would smoothly shift into how big and ripped he was getting. "So", he'd say, "Out of curiosity, how many inches around would you say your neck is?" Like I had any idea or even cared. The whole point was just so he could tell me about the inch or so he'd added to the circumference of his own neck.

Aspec, are you by any chance my cousin?
I've ruined this section in a matter of a few weeks? Im honored.

I am not your cousin and I have done nothing more than ask questions and give some replies.

Let me know when you want me to "brag" about my physicality, and if that gets tiresome I can certainly go into more important things to brag about.

GSP: I re-read what you say and the fact is I dont disagree with anything you say, short of your HeartRate "OPINION". I think we got off on the wrong feet when I was taking this as me giving a suggestion to a member, and you coming in with generality. There is nothing wrong with what you or I said, but we're addressing two different funcionatilities and that's why we are disagreeing.
Which PT cert you going for? NASM?

no one needs to "ruin" anything...
any new members should just realize that everyone here (esp in this section) are very open and caring towards other members, their current levels, and their future goals.... and ive gotten a lot of it just from sharing and receiving the facts that ive learned over the years....
its never a penis measuring contest saying i can bench more then you or whatever, its a positive atmosphere that many people enjoy, and that anyone can easily see if they read the other very helpful threads...

I'm all for helping each other, but if you cant take my criticism of what you 'think' are hard facts, I cant help that.

Default here's my stats

[quote=Aspec;125598]With all this training talk I was curious as to what sort of people we have here.

How tall are you? 6'
What do you weigh? 225
What sort of weight can you lift?
One arm t-bar row 450lbs, bench 325lbs, squat 535lbs.
EZbar curl 285lbs [try and arm bar me will yer]
Tricep pressdown 165lbs.
Deadlift 600lbs.
Shoulder press- single arm press 130lbs.

What sort of endurance training do you do?
After weights do 5 sets of 30 second blasts on 120lbs bag.
With 30 seconds rest bestween
3 sets of 20 sprawls combined with strickes to bag.
Then I do 10 minutes on a bike, doing high speed blasts every 1.30 minutes for 20 seconds.

I'm pushing to get 10 sets of 30 second blasts on the bag. I use 4,7 and 9 hits combos, not just striking it reletlessly.

I train 3 times a week.
bodyfat 13 percent, I like to eat.

5'7"
175 pounds

I really don't know what I can lift as far as a max. I circut train and resistance train with weights I guess. Im not trying to bulk up. I want to stay in my weight range. I do all the standard weight lifting on the Natiluas style machines and such. Im always working out bymyself. deal.

I do cardio on a Precor Treadmill on the cross country for 45 minuets .Speed set on 6 . I also use the Eliptical machines. I don't do real rd work due to a knee injury a year ago. Torn Meniscus .

I normally lift weights 3 times a week with Cardio 3 times a week. I do Karate / MMA 5 ea classes and BJJ 1 ea classes times a week for a total of 6 hours in the Dojo . My week is FULL. I just hurt my shoulder friday. WarDawg

I'm 5'9" 172 last time I weighed myself. I lift my butt out of bed in the morning and pretty much max out after one flight of stairs.

This issue of size and body composition is so weird and irregular. I'm 6'2 and 215 with pretty decent musculature, and all I'm really carrying extra is some ab fat. I'm hoping by the time I get down to 200-205, it'll pretty much be gone. But then I'll talk to someone who's 6'2, looks pretty fit and strong, and they'll say they weigh 180-ish. Like thirty lbs lighter than me. I honestly don't think I should or even could lose thirty more lbs without looking like one of those anorexia horror stories. And then I'll stand next to someone who's my height or maybe an inch shorter, and at 200 lbs they're totally fat. At 238 (the heaviest I've ever been) I didn't look even close to that fat.

at 5'11 192ish usually, i feel really light at even 185 but really heavy at 198 or 200ish.. i have alot of muscle but also fat... so im not sure where to go
