Help with junk food.
These last 2 weeks I have been training hard but I have been eating junk food everyday. It does not feel good. How can I stop this? I heard that drinking water helps clear the toxins inside of your body. Is there other ways to help stop eating junk food? Has anybody been through this? It's not as easy as some people would think to change your diet.

Well for starters, stop buying junk food; if its not in your house you can't eat it. Try eating more fruit maybe, natures candy. But yea I'm probably not the best person to talk about this as my diet is terrible.

You need to get it out of the house. I have the same problem, lol.

Fruits should definitely be a part of a diet. Not only are they healthy but good as well.
If you have problems letting the junk food go completely, eat that stuff once or twice a week (like on the weekend). It's better than eating it every day.
And if you eat stuff like candy bars etc. eat some protein with it so your blood sugar levels stay at a decent level.

Don't buy it when you go to the grocery store, however tempting they may be. Something as simple as a carrot stick to give you that crunchyness that you are used to from potato chips, psychologically trick yourself ya know

i follow the "just don't buy it" method as i have little will power when it comes to saying no to sugary goodness. if its not around me i tend not to want to eat it.

Don't buy it. I pretty much shop on a day to day basis unless it's something I can buy in bulk that is healthy (bags of flash frozen chicken breasts for example) or oatmeal. I rarely have cookies, candy, or chips in the house (ok, so I had some girl scout cookies laying around last month) and if I want a snack it'll be a banana, a salad, or a bowl of cereal (I stick to "adult" cereals like shredded wheat, raisin bran, etc.).
I pretty much allow myself to eat as much fruit or veg as I want and drink as much water and skim milk as I want. Everything else I try to keep at a measured level. X amount of meat, X amount of rice, X slices of bread, etc.

I say a really good idea is buying protein or supplement bars. They are referred to as supplement bars because they replace the meal you crave. After a while the urge to have junk food goes away, also you ever think of having a turkey sandwich, sushi, or just having fruit or veges instead of eating all the fattening food? If you want to get in shape and see the results you need to lay off the junk food and start eating healthier otherwise it will be the death of you.

Those cravings are often the result of boredom, and a need to just snack on something because it's what you're used to doing. If you're eating six times a day as you should be, you're less likely to feel hungry between meals and reach for junk food. Yes, drinking a lot of water helps too, both in the way that it helps fill you up, and the way it flushes your system out. There's nothing wrong with snacking, but if you don't have healthy, non-fattening snacks within reach, what are you supposed to do?
So instead of buying junk food, buy nuts and dried fruit and fresh fruits and vegetables that you can keep in your backpack. Randy Couture snacks on walnuts and almonds and raisins throughout the day, and he's obviously doing something right.
Bottom line, though, is this is about discipline. Fitness is about discipline, martial arts are about discipline, and eating clean is about discipline. Dedication, commitment, mental toughness, etc. Just ask yourself if you have those things. If you do, then you already have the tools to cut out the junk food. If you don't, to quote Dana White, "Do you wanna be a f**kin' fighter?!?"

coming from a fat guy that loves to eat....
keep junk food out of your house. if it's not there, you can't eat it.
if you have a problem with eating fastfood, find some easy to cook (quick) food ideas.
some times i go to fast food places cause i don't want to spend an hour cooking food.
i'm the kind of person that can eat the same thing everyday and not get bored of it, so i make a weeks worth of pasta & sauce. i eat the wheat pasta and organic sauce.
i also make a weeks worth of rice with 2oz of chicken breast in it.
that way when i need something to eat i can throw one in the microwave for 3mins.
also you need snacks thru the day so make sure you have some healthy stuff to snack on.
again this has all been said above, but i'm fat and i'm losing weight right now.
my friend is moving to vegas and was staying with me. he eats nothing but junk food. i didn't lose any weight while he was living here. now he's gone and i'm back on track to lose more weight
good luck

The programs that I've noticed as far as nutrition and exercise are concerned are successful are the ones that allow a substitute for the common types of Junk food. There are tasty and filling substitues for things like potato chips. I don't have my list with me, but I'll post it here in the next few days.
Also, the good programs allow you a "cheat" day. This helps not only replenish some calories that you lose following a sensible/rigid nutritional program, but also lets you get over the fast food fettish. Some MMA camps that use "Cheat" days are Team Punishment and Caesar Gracie's.

Hell, there are good programs that allow you more than one cheat day. Some of them advise you to work hard through the week and eat really clean, but on weekends, eat whatever you want and take it easy. It recharges your batteries and keeps you from going insane. Also, if someone eats whatever they want 7 days a week normally and they cut themselves back to only two, they're definitely going to see results. Then as you get stronger and leaner and you get more used to the discipline required, you cut down to one cheat day a week. Then eventually, as you become an iron-abbed killing machine , your cheat days should get a lot less extreme, and you'll get by with even fewer of them.
But Rome, as they say, wasn't built in a day.

Also as a fat guy who has been losing weight. A good idea is to eat a healthy meal, chicken breast and salad, and then go to the grocery store. If you aren't hungry at the time, resisting sweets is much easier I find. And then you only buy what is on your list.

Absolutely. Grocery shopping while you're hungry is a huge mistake. Things like ice cream and baked goods start looking irresistable.

i've lost 6lbs on the sitnspin plan...
but i can't really do burpies to easy cause i live upstairs, but i do them without the jump.
i don't have any cheat days, but if i am craving something i will eat it.
this is cause if i don't eat it now, i might eat 3 times as much of it next week.
