Default equipment use, which kind and how often?

everyone here has differant ideas as to what makes up the ultimate workout. my question is what type of equipment do you use and how often does it make its way into your workout? my workouts are comprised mainly of freeweights, Bands, Bodyweight, medicine ball and Stability ball exercises. i don't use machines or do any exercises with barbells.

I use a variety of dumbells and free weights, ankle weights, a double end bag, a 50 pound heavy bag for ground n pound, a 70lb bag for kicking and punching, a wristwench*, and a non-elastic band for isometric exercises.

*Don't know the correct name, but mine is a home made version of this:

Dumbells and free weights: 2/3 workout days
Ankle weights: I wear these all weekend during which is my off time and I don't do any training other than a few minutes here and there and a lot of walking.
Double end bag: Daily warm up tool.
50 pound heavy bag: Used to use it daily, but haven't touched it in months...looking to get back around to it again.
70lb heavy bag: 2/3 workout days
Wristwench: Daily
Band: 1/3 workout days

I'm of the belief that you don't need any equipment. Running and bodyweight exercises will pretty much take you wherever you need to go in terms of strength and conditioning. Check out Ross Enamait's books or the Crossfit website for proof.

With that said, there's still a bunch of equipment I enjoy using, and there's nothing wrong with that. I like running on the treadmill. If I'm sore and I want to give my joints a rest, I'll switch to the elliptical cross-trainer. I like Concept 2 rowers. I like the big stairclimber machines. Because I'm 215 and have yet to master pullups, I like the machine that allows you to do assisted ones.

I use my skipping rope as a warm-up every time I go to the gym -- it's definitely my favourite piece of equipment.

I'm in my second week of a six-week program that's totally based on adding muscle (I admit it's a bit of a vanity project), so I'm switching from my usual workout routine of just working every muscle and sweating like a pig three or four days a week, and following more of a traditional bodybuilding plan -- working the bajeezus out of one muscle group for only one session a week, and then leaving it alone until the following week (meaning each muscle group gets its own "day"). For that reason, I'm making a lot more use of the various nautilus machines. This way I can work with heavier-than-usual weight without needing anyone to spot for me.

I love the cable machine too, and the lat pulldown. Oh -- and the back-extension rack that I also use (backwards) to do dips on.

So yeah. It's pretty much all good.
