Critique my new diet
i am always looking to improve... and everyone in this section always has great variations...
right now im on a great roll with training and diet...
just in regards to diet ive been doing the following..
8am
fresh blueberries, banana, milk, sorbet, and protein powder shake...
11am
a turkey lettace and cheese wrap
working out
followed by
2pm
same breakfast shake again... maybe a small snack like a chicken subway wrap or something (not always)
dinner at 6pm
fish, steak, chicken sometimes with whole grain rice, always with veggies, spinich, salad
nightime...
TRYING not to eat much at all... although sometimes i have to admit i binge and eat a frozen pizza lol... i try my hardest though and i know its my weakness...
overall i include not much fat, although some (id like to think about 15% of my diet, with alot of that coming from the olive oil i cook the spinich in (monounsaturated fat, not too bad) i have all my carbs from whole grain rice (average) and fresh fruit (great) and try to eat them earlier in the day so they can burn off from activity....
protein is never an issue because i seem to get alot...
along with that i take a multi, glucosime, and glutamine for my joints and some noxcg3 for workouts...
any suggestions? ive ammended this alot from the past... ive definently seem a loss of body fat but im always looking to improve from the pros on here.
thanks as always!! :sport-smi

I know your conditioning is improving and your bodyfat % is dropping, so all I'll say is keep it up. If you were really looking for ways to eat cleaner and get down to that visible 8-pack weight, I'd ask what kind of cheese you're putting in your turkey sandwich, and I'd ask about the ingredients in the sorbet--sometimes it can contain a lot of sugar.
You'll benefit more from the iron and nutrients in the spinach if you eat it raw and combine it with some citrus fruit like orange wedges.
But like I said, forget about all this nitpicking. Enjoy your occasional frozen pizza, and keep up the good work.

I would suggest two things. One, take one meal a week go no holds barred and eat whatever the fook you want. Two, I'd add some Omega-3's/fish oil to your diet. It raises the good cholesterol, gives you the good fats, and is also good for your joints. Also, Menshealth's website has hoards of different/healthy alternatives for diet suggestions too...so, it doesn't have to get boring. I love all those things you listed but day in and day out, eventually you're going to get tired of it.

thanks guys...
i know it sounds strange, but if i cut ALL fat out of my diet i sometimes dont feel so great as a result... so i assumed low fat was best... anyone else ever feel like that?
im big on the omega 3s smash.... but i assumed with all the fish that i eat id get plenty there? i know thats great to prevent blod clotting, which for some reason i always stress about...
your also right, eventually i do get tired of the same things... at the supermarket i walk around aimlessly and am just like, ok same old things again...
anyways thanks, ill look there for some variations and try to be more patient to see how things go..

That looks pretty good.
I'm an avid supporter of 40-30-30 (or Zone) personally.
And I don't see the point in eating any kind of rice, pasta or all those other traditional complex carbs ever.
But you're clearly keeping the portions in check so there's no problem there.

GSP, you definitely don't want to cut all fat from your diet -- just the saturated and trans fats. The healthy natural fats that are in nuts and flesh and stuff like avocados is good for you.

yea i should have been more specific... i did mean saturated fats...
i also tend to get very impatient... which is almost why i started this tread.. because i realized that 3 months ago as a i started eating alot better i had alot more fat on me then now... so i guess alot of it is just being consistent and waiting for effects to take place

it was shaky for awhile because i had my last finals for class, but thats over with now, phew! lol
im stocked up on food and back on track.... i take glutamine after my workouts, which at this point are short 30 min to hour bursts every day...
i do take multis, but only because i may be missing out a bit on some vitamins and minerals and just want to make sure i keep everything up to RDA values

That's not very strange at all. The body needs fat to function. Also if you cut down TOO much on the fat you limit the amount of fat the body will burn. As a rule of thumb don't drop below 1gram of fat per 1kg of body weight in your daily diet. What to whatch out for is the bad fat. For example check the ALL ACCESS episode with Rich Franklin, he adds pure fat to his morning shake. He does that mainly because the food he eats is so low on fat he needs to. In that episode his BF% is at an amazing 4.9%. Eat clean and if you don't think you have enough fat in your diet you can always add some nuts (not salted), which has great fats in it.

I assume you eat your breakfast when you wake up or close to it. Then it seems your last meal is quite early. Assuming you train hard you would really like to add another meal after your dinner.
