Fighter bashing
There seems to be confusion on how to criticize a fighter while not bashing. I suggest this approach--imagine you are going to see said fighter later that night in a bar and he will have read your post. How will you provide constructive criticism so that you are not picking up your teeth with broken fingers. We might use such mental imagery when communicating with each other.

Exactly. All I can say is be diplomatic and be specific about what you like / dislike about a fighter. FightForum doesn't care if you hate a fighter. Unless you have something specific that a fighter has said or done that bothers you, we don't want your negative comments.

It is possible to completely dislike a fighter (like I do with BJ Penn, LOL) and still respect the man (I do think that BJ Penn is among the best MMA fighters of all time). A person can be critical of a fighter without taking a huge dump on them. Discussion of the fighter does not need personal attacks against that fighter. It's okay to dislike a fighter.
Other people that read comments need to see that no fighter is above criticism. GSP is a great example there, as we all have seen him say some things in the past year that really make him look bad ("I am not impressed with your performance" to Matt Hughes and his later interview comments about his match with Serra).
I think that stating your opinions while being respectful will help a lot of us to keep a cooler head. Many of us dislike certain fighters while many others out there really like that certain fighter. Respect the fans and the fighter while expressing your opinions. It's not easy, but I think it's for the best. Even I have trouble walking that fine line.

They also step up in front of the guy they were previously bashing and might get their lights turned out for them. Unless youre doing the same, keep to the FF rules on bashing...

Lennox Lewis was taken to school in the trash talking department by Hasime Rahman (sp). Schooled!
