Alright, so I am holding my 10 month old on my shoulder, drinking coffee, and trying to absorb some daddy time and ESPN, simultaneously. What I cannot wrap my mind around is how I am watching the NASCARs take yet another left-hand-turn and I don't see the most talented athletes in combat sports. Sorry Nascar fans, I know your drivers are athletes, but in Florida everyone driving a dodge or chevy thinks they are drivers and tailgate-draft. So the UFC 57 was over, the bottom line reads of Corrales, and no mention of UFC. Have you ever seen UFC on a television in a public and conspicuous place? The pedestrians stop and watch. Not so much with NASCAR, hockey and drafting--in that order. I want to see our fighters, our sport, in the paper and on ESPN, damnit!

This is something that we all want to see eventually. It just isn't there yet. It's not mainstream. Some people like to think it's there but I really think it has a long way to go before it can really be accepted as a mainstream sport.

You are right. We are grateful to be moving from the old UFC with out of shape brawlers lying on the mat together for 15 minutes while soaked in blood--Gracie obviously excluded. While we are evolving, it will take the casual viewer to relearn what they assume the UFC is. What if the UFC sold stock? Oh yeah. I'd be on that.

ESPN stops its friday night fights in favor of cheerleading. They did a horrid job with K-1 kickboxing. They just have a very negative oppinon of fighting sports in general and have a lesser oppinon of MMA.

I doubt that MMA will ever get on ESPN. And if it does it will suck.

Give it time guys, they'll expand. I mean, they're having their first fight in Cali soon, hopefully, theyll broaden their horizens tv wise as well

Oh and funny thing somewhat connected but like starting next week there's gonna be soaps on the SciFI channel, c'mon now!WTF?

Yeah that kind of makes sense. If it ever gets on ESPN most likely it will be treated as bad or worse than the K1 USA stuff was. It will probably be on ESPN2 as well. Once MMA goes mainstream if it does expect the quality of cards to go down and PPV prices to go up. Unfortunately those things go hand in hand when reaching mainstream status.

if the prices go up I don't think the will stay up long I think alot of people will just wait on the dvd I know I would and I get a good discount
