This is not going to happen. Sometimes people are unable to use perfect grammar but are very friendly and have something important to say. Should we ban them for their imperfectness? Never.
And what about me poor little german? Want me to go?
But we always try to encourage people to write as good as they can.
The example you mentioned is more a case of imperfect spelling. And by the way, it's "I'd like seeing".

Actually, "I'd like to see" is grammatically correct as well.
I'd like to respond to what was being discussed in the other thread that got locked over in the UFC section. I'm against members having the power to lock or delete their own threads, because it takes away from healthy discussion and the risk of outing yourself as a know-nothing.
I start a thread that guarantees an Eddie Sanchez victory, and after CroCop knocks him out, everyone starts posting in my thread to rub it in. BAM -- I just delete the thread to spare myself any further abuse.
No way. You make your bed and you lie in it.

I agree as well. The only time where it could be okay is if there are no replies to the thread. Such as making a thread that has already been started, discovering that, and deleting yours before it gets replied to.
As far as the grammar goes, I don't believe people are talking about strict enforcement. I think its more of a case of eliminating "IM speak". For example, "how r u" should be written out "how are you". These are forums, not a chat room, and there is no point in speedposting here. Trying to read posts full of IM shortcuts can be difficult and very frustrating. I'm not saying everything should be grammatically correct and certainly no always spelled right. But taking a little time to make more complete sentences will help get your point across rather than making it difficult to read what you are trying to say. I think that's what most mean when they say better grammar.

I honestly don't care for IM speak on forums, but I can tolerate it to some extent. When a post is difficult or annoying to read, I won't hesitate to delete it.

new guests are great to have... but the UFC section is so out of control with all the pointless threads just to ask a question where 5 other threads are already made about it. its getting kind of hard to filter through all the crap to read the intelligent posts

Actually, I'd like it, if we'd get rid of some of the sub-forums. Arena,Lobby and OT all in one imo for example. And some of the sub-sub-forums could be taken care of with a sticky thread in the sub-forum. There are way too many places to go here imo, and most of them aren't really active.
And I guess a vote on some of the possible changes would be nice. That way, we'd also know, that something is being done about all the suggestions.
My 02.
Oh, and possibly deduct points from OBVIOUS postwhores. Nobody wants to see all the same threads times 10, just because there's an event coming up, where you can bet.

You run the risk of a split infinitive if "to" and "see" are separated: "To boldly go," is the most famous split infinitive. It should be "To go boldly." We can all learn to write gooder.

I have seen quite a few forums where you have to have a certain amount of posts to make a thread but then people may just make a bunch of posts just so they can make a thread. What I do think would work though would be making it so they have to be a member for a certain amout of time (maybe a month) before you can make threads.

apologies, this is more what i was getting at. i understand not everyone should have prefect typing/spelling/grammar, it's the IM speak that i find frustrating because it usually goes along with posts that are less than 10 words long that a person's opinion is right or wrong 'cuz he es sew gud' ect ect. that's my only issue.
i think the deletion of your own thread would be a good idea but have it so they after a certain period of time you can't take it down (if this is possible in this forum's format) because that would seem to please both sides, the repeat threads and people not being able to avoid the consequence of putting up a thread that might not go their way.

How about direct deposit of points in the bank. Have it as an option in the user control panel.

Some more prediction games and elimination games would be cool. Also the betting system could use some work.

On other forums I always liked a games category...filled with the classics...perhaps a high score can yield like 500 points or something?

Done. I am also adding a "Result" forum to each section for spoilers.
Any other suggestions / feedback?
