Default How to Bet on fights using vBookie!

FightForum.com allows members to bet forum points on fights. This thread explains the betting and rewards system.

STEP 1 :
The very first thing you need to do before you can begin betting, is to accumulate some forum points. These points are displayed down below your name in each post you make. You can accumulate points by simple actions such as making posts. Here are the point distributions for certain actions :

.10 - each time another person views a thread you created
15 - for creating a thread
10 - for replying to a post
200 - for referring a new member! The new member must include your name when registering.

STEP 2 :
Ok now you have some points and you are ready to bet on an upcoming fight. Next thing to do is to find a vBookie event. You will notice a "$" next to each thread that has a fight linked to it. Click on the thread.

STEP 3 :
You are now on the betting page. This page contains all information regarding the event including Outcome, Odds, Total Bets, Total Staked, and the cutoff date for all bets.

Place your bet by typing the amount desired into the "Stake" feild for your desired outcome.

Understanding the odds :
3/1 F (3.00)

You will see some figures that look like these in the odds column.
The 3/1 means that you will earn 3 points for every 1 that you stake. The (3.00) is the more readable description. The amount (3.00) is what you will earn for every 1 point you stake. So a bet of 2 points will result in a 6 point payout if you win. Click on the button in the bottom left to confirm your bet. Note that some events allow multiple bets while others only allow one. Now just sit back and wait for the big fight.

Accessing the Main vBookie menu

STEP 1 :
You can use the vBookie link in the navigation bar at the top of FightForum.com to access the betting menu. Click vBookie.

STEP 2 :
Notice the links toward the top of the screen. You can click on "Your Bets" to find more information the bets you have placed, or "Bet Statistics" to see the general statistics for all members.

Notice at the bottom of this page, there is a list of upcoming fights with descriptions. To the left of each listing, there are some links. "Info" will give you more information on that particular bet and the betting stats for all members. Clicking on "Thread" will bring you to the page to bet on that particular event.

Finally :
Once you win all that cash, your going to need a place to spend it. From the navigation menu you can access the store or deposit your money in the bank.

That's it for now, hope it helps. Have fun!

Note : Feel free to request that a fight to be added to vBookie for betting, if we haven't added it already. Please use the suggestion forum.

What happens to your bet when a match ends in a draw? Guess you will neither win nor lose any points?!

Right, no points would be exchanged in a draw.

Just thinking: You put a lot of points on one fighter. Your guy dominates his opponent, bullies him around, knocks him down, everything. But the judges give the win to the other man. This will be the worst: Your man lost although he should have won, and you lost all the points. LOL

hehe, it's all part of gambling. If you lose, just make more posts and bet it all again

How many points do we need so we can change our custom title and stuff like that? Do you know the exact numbers for the "reward" opportunities?

Here is the rewards price list. The cost is listed in the lower left side of each box.

Are all the fights going to have 2-1 odds?

I set the Rahman vs. Barrett fight up with 3:1 odds because of its importance due to the Interim WBC Heavyweight Title. But actually we are going to use 2:1 - this one case was more of a single thing, which differs from the usual routine.
As Guile said, up to now, 2:1 odds are standard.

Just so it is clear:

When you win a bet, you receive your winnings, plus the original amount bet back.

For Example:

Fighter A vs Fighter B

Outcomes:------ODDS-----------Results
A wins ---------- 1:1 ------------- Win
B wins ---------- 2:1

If you bet 500 points on fighter A to win, you would receive the 500 points for correctly predicting the winner, plus you would receive your original 500 point bet back, which makes the total 1000.

Let me know if you have any questions.

The bank gives you a certain amount of intrest, earning you a small bit of credits as long as you leave them in for a while, minus the small processing fee of putting credits into the bank at the beginning. A good thing to possibly do between events if you are just a UFC fan or just a Pride fan and have a gap between events... but thats one of my secrets

OK, so I understand the betting and I understand the bank but I still have a question. Is this just for bragging rights or will there be a reason to get as many points as possible? I'm a gambling man so I like the idea either way but I'm just wondering what the bottom line is on why we're doing this. Please help.

Couldn't you look up odds on some Vegas Odds site for most if not all the fights and do them off that ?
