I didn't watch the clip,until now. I see what you mean IRISHMIKE but i would guess he does palm inwards for a hook too. Gonna have to watch some of his fights and slooooooowwwww it down a bit to check.

I guess he does! Generally, its the European-style and Mexican boxers throw hooks, palm down. I would Imagine Chuck throws hooks with his fist just like in the vid.

At my gym we're taught that having your palm facing down can cause whats commonly known as a "boxer break" That's where you end up clipping their face with only your ring and pinky fingers which are really weak.

So palm facing in toward you which causes you to hit with your middle and index fingers which are inline with your forearm. And also keep your elbow up after you swing the hook to act as a defense if they throw a punch. And also turn your front foot in the direction of the punch.
